Title: Kentuck goes anti-semitic, gets OP hidden

Jewish members of Congress... [View all]

...should not desert their Party or their country to support the Israeli leader, Netanyahu. They really need to re-examine their loyalties, in my opinion. Even if they are dual citizens, they should still remain loyal to this country, rather than Israel. All the moreso since Boehner and the Republicans are using the Netanyahu speech for purely political reasons. Even the citizens of Israel can see what is happening.

Ah, yes, the old, "To whom are they loyal?" argument. I thought that sort of argument was taken off the table by JFK in 1960 ...

3. I seriously doubt any members of Congress are dual citizens.

Are they even allowed to be?

5. Joe Lieberman had dual citizenship.

I don't know if any presently are? All the more reason to not go along with this Republican scheme.

Final comment, just before kentuck's stupid post was taken down:

It is a legitimate point, and axiomatic in national security strategy, that nations don't have 'Friends,' they have 'Allies,' and so it follows that the interests of the USA and ANY ally are not identical, eternal, or inseparable.  However, demanding that legislators demonstrate party loyalty by trying to embarrass and humiliate the chief executive of an ally for quite trivial domestic political reasons is so far beyond that as to defy rational discussion.

It's not about embarrassing Netanyahu. They want to embarrass Boehner. Both parties are playing a petty game of "whose is bigger" right now. The Republicans wanted to show Ojughead that he's irrelevant, and the Dems are lining up behind him to show he still is.

Frankly, I want to hear what Bibi has to say, but Boehner probably could have gone about it in a better way.

While that is completely covered in my post as "for quite trivial domestic political reasons," of which the embarrassment of an Israeli PM would be the actual effect, I beg to differ with your conclusion, in that the Democrats actually wish to do both.  Obama would love to see the Likud out of power, and replaced by a more tractable (And gullible) Labour coalition government.

WTH is he talking about, "Republican scheme"?!

Netanyahu was invited to speak about Iran and its nuke efforts. Without looking at the globe in the next room, I can state with confidence that Israel is closer to Iran than is WashDC. Israel has a much higher stake in monitoring Iran's doings and figuring out its intentions. If US intel people are as well, Obama and his peeps are between those intel people and Congress, and Obama, et al, have been less than forthcoming in close to all dealings with Congress. However much Obama & Crew dislike Netanyahu's coming to the US, it serves a necessary purpose. And that is no little part of why Obama & Crew are POed, Netanyahu's speech and consultations bypass their stonewall & filter system.

Plausible deniability?

Skip Netanyahu's speech then when the subject of Iran's threats are discussed later they can plead ignorance.
