Interesting....diesel fuel prices....the stuff heavy industry runs on hasn't fallen....at least not here.

And it likely won't.  Stocks are going to drop as the season goes on because of heating oil demands.  All the more reason I'm glad I topped off my tank in July when the price was "only" $3.199 a gallon here.  It's now $3.60-3.70 gallon, depending on where you get it.  I'm figuring about $3.75 on my first fill after Christmas, and close to $4.00-4.10/gallon on the second fillup around the end of February.

If we're lucky, when I top off after the season (I usually have the furnace guy do the annual maintenance in April or so and do final fill then) it'll have dropped to about $3.75 again by next spring, otherwise I'll just wait until mid-summer to do my fill.

At 180-200 gallons a fillup, that comes out to 550-600 gallons for the winter, or about $2200-2500, give or take.

Yeah, I'm loving this shit.  NOT.

$3.29 per gallon here on the roof of Nebraska, but diesel's gone through the roof, about $4.00 per gallon.

No, it isn't, considering that goods and products are transported primarily using diesel-powered trucks, etc.  And as the stocks drop over the winter, it's only going to get worse.

$3.95 for premium today.  The gasoline has been dropping a couple of cents every day.  I link it to the election coming up.  Too bad it's not dropping fast enough though.  The regular fuel is $3.72 a gallon.  Too much money.

Around here there is now a fifty cent divergence between gas and diesel.  Not good for the grocery bill. (diesel is 4.05  gas was 3.53)

Regular gas is about $3.15-$3.20 here.  Deisel costs more than premium gas, about $3.75.

Well yeah but the truck that delivers the brie and biscuts burns diesel.  So up goes the cost of chow.  I was just calculating a trip to NC Outer Banks at which is 800 mi at 8 mpg so about 800 bucks for diesell round trip.   It is iffy at this point.  My be another staycation year for me.
