Just to place the focus where it belongs, “inverters” are not the problem in a power system. Because power electronics has been my career since the Carter MalAdministration - not pharmaceuticals as a few have accused - I can guarantee that there are at least two inverters between your wall socket and the processor in your computer or tablet.

The problem in the green schemes/scams is the variation and intermittency in the sources - sunlight and wind. The variation due to clouds or variations of safe/efficient wind speeds is considerable, and there is night time, and winds can be too calm for a birdchopper to operate or too fast for safe operation.
