That means he's a captain, a leader. On top of that, he's their quarterback. He's the driver of that offense. The offense that is 2-0 over your boy in Superbowls.

The first SB win year (and years prior to that, and an argument can be made to last year) the entire NY/NJ/Southern CT region were calling for Eli's "MVP - OMG ELI ELI ELI" head on a platter.   He sucked on a large scale level.

The final games of the season a light was struck under his ass and then the Pats played them and shoved them onto a momentum swing because they sat their starters for the most part during that game.   The Giants shouldn't have even been in the playoffs.

The sucking part?   Yeah, you will have to point me to the season where that could be applied to Tom Brady, Peyton Manning,  Marino and all of the other amazing QBs in NFL history.  

Revisionist history for Eli is the only way that boy is getting into the HOF.  

 

Good thing the people that vote in the HOF actually know something about, you know, football and that you'll be sitting at home in your armchair when it happens.

Eli Manning may not deserve it, but job security is not an issue through the 2009 season and probably beyond. The Giants are stuck. They have already invested $30.1 million in Manning, plus all the draft picks they traded for him. And even if they were willing to write that off as a costly mistake, there is no place to turn to upgrade the position.

These are just a few of the unflattering comments that are flooding fan boards, sports talk shows and local newspapers about the fourth-year quarterback of a 7-4 squad that still holds a wild card in its greasy fingers although there always seems to be a banana peel and open manhole in the Giants' path at this time of year.

Less than 2 weeks later he took the Giants to TB, won, took them to Dallas, won, and took them to GB.....and won. Next game? Took them to the Superbowl against the Patriots. And won. Please, do tell me more about the "wisdom" of these armchair QB's flooding those fan boards and talk shows less than 2 weeks before postseason. You seem to have so much in common with them.

Tom Brady was 29/48 for 266 yds (avg 5.5) and threw 1 TD, 0 INT. His % was 60%.

Tell me more about how Eli sucks and Brady was ordained by God to be a QB.

Hall of famer. No Superbowls (Eli has 2), only 8000 more yards than Eli (who still has years to play), only 4 Pro Bowls (Eli's already been to 2), No MVPs (Eli HAS 2), and their rating is very similar, 84.4 to 82.1.


Please, tell me more about how this isn't about your hatred for Eli, or seeing him smack that little bitch Brady twice in the Superbowl, but about how Eli isn't HOF material. I'm leaning towards the first one.

Don't disagree with that at all. Rodgers is a stud. This is about some rabid Pats fan still butthurt because her team got embarrassed by the Giants twice in the Superbowl. This has nothing to do with any ineptness as a QB on Eli's part, but her blind hatred and homerism for her team and her need to trash Eli with absolutely NO empirical data to back up her bullshit but Damn comment sections on 5+ year old blog sites.

Stats most definitely do not tell the story, which is a case I make regularly in baseball.   I am showing you articles when Eli was supposed to be in the prime of his career, and he in one word - SUCKED.

Skip over that portion of his career.   Whatev.      I watch these games, and read the NY rags daily.  I didn't just start noticing the boy once he got his first ring.  Oh - and Eli has been a crybaby since he was drafted and immediately threw a tantrum... we'll forget that also.
