The Cloward-Piven Strategy of Orchestrated Crisis

The Cloward-Piven Strategy of Orchestrated Crisis

"Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules. When pressed to honor every word of every law and statute, every Judeo-Christian moral tenet, and every implicit promise of the liberal social contract, human agencies inevitably fall short. The system's failure to "live up" to its rule book can then be used to discredit it altogether, and to replace the capitalist "rule book" with a socialist one."
-- Saul Alinsky, "Rules for Radicals" (1989)

The Strategy was first elucidated in the May 2, 1966 issue of The Nation magazine by a pair of radical socialist Columbia University professors, Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven. David Horowitz summarizes it as the strategy of forcing political change through orchestrated crisis. The "Cloward-Piven Strategy" seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse.  Cloward and Piven were inspired by radical organizer and Hillary Clinton mentor Saul Alinsky.

Their strategy to create political, financial, and social chaos that would result in revolution blended Alinsky concepts with their more aggressive efforts at bringing about a change in U.S. government. To achieve their revolutionary change, Cloward and Piven sought to use a cadre of aggressive organizers assisted by friendly news media to force a re-distribution of the nation's wealth.I

In their Nation article, Cloward and Piven were specific about the kind of crisis they were trying to create:  "By crisis, we mean a publicly visible disruption in some institutional sphere. Crisis can occur spontaneously (e.g., riots) or as the intended result of tactics of demonstration and protest which either generate institutional disruption or bring unrecognized disruption to public attention."

The vast expansion of welfare in New York City that came of the NWRO's Cloward-Piven tactics sent the city into bankruptcy in 1975. Rudy Giuliani cited Cloward and Piven by name as being responsible for "an effort at economic sabotage." He also credited Cloward-Piven with changing the cultural attitude toward welfare from that of a temporary expedient to a lifetime entitlement, an attitude which in-and-of-itself has caused perhaps the greatest damage of all.

Enter Barack Obama

Barack Obama at the epicenter of an incestuous stew of American radical leftism. Not only are his connections significant, they practically define who he is. Taken together, they constitute a who's who of the American radical left, and guiding all is the Cloward-Piven strategy.  Conspicuous in their absence are any connections at all with any other group, moderate, or even mildly leftist. They are all radicals, firmly bedded in the anti-American, communist, socialist, radical leftist mesh.

Outstanding read.

In short, Obama, Soros, etc follow the “Cloward-Piven Strategy” of forcing political change through orchestrated crisis. The “Cloward-Piven Strategy” seeks to hasten the fall of capitalism by overloading the government bureaucracy with a flood of impossible demands, thus pushing society into crisis and economic collapse.

Brilliant reading. Bookmark these and read them sometime.

And notice how often and prominently ACORN is mentioned.  They are a tool for collapse, not support.  Too bad the useful idiots don't get that.

The flaw in the plan is that it assumes the Government must cleave strictly to those 'Liberal social ideals and Judeo-Christian ethos,' whereas in reality governments are adaptive organisms that will not go unresistingly into a state of collapse over entitlement programs they can change with the stroke of enough pens, and driving a benificent system anywhere near collapse is really far more likely to bring on a far less-generous, much more repressive environment than it is to bring about a proletarian Utopia.

Cloward-Piven Strategy

Who here, besides me, fears that Obama and his socialist handlers are attempting to apply the Cloward-Piven Strategy to the U.S. economy and bring about the Socialist/Communist utopia that they are desperate to implement. For those unfamiliar with the Cloward-Piven Strategy it is a method to force an economic collapse by overburdening the government with obligations it cannot afford to keep. The particular implementation of this strategy is get so many people on welfare that the system eventually collapses taking the rest of the economy with it.

I believe that all of Obama's actions are aimed at this goal. What is the evidence?

The Obama administration has put out advertising encouraging American's to sign up for the various forms of welfare that the Government offers. Continually extending unemployment benefits allows people to stay out of work longer and thus burden the system. Jobs that could have been created by making use of the natural energy sources found within our borders not only contribute to high unemployment numbers but further drives up the cost of living.

Obamacare subsidies in the form of tax credits remove potential income from the treasury. The coming bailout of the insurance industry when Obamacare fails to sign up enough people will take even more money from government coffers. Amnesty for the illegal immigrants currently living with our borders will, I think, finally push the system over the 'financial cliff' we have all heard so much about. I heard that the liberals desire amnesty to increase the numbers of lib voters but I think that the goal of amnesty is much loftier.

Obama talks about jobs but does nothing to create them. He does nothing to lower the burden of the national debt that we all live under. All Obama and his administration does is to further strain the Government’s ability to pay its bills.

What is Obama's solution? Print more money because that worked out so well for the Confederate States of America.

Please share your thoughts on this. Why are the libs unable to see the inevitable results of their desires? Do libs really thing money grows on trees and the Government is the master gardener of the money tree garden?

I think there's very little honest question that this is exactly the strategy they've been employing.

It's been talked about for several years that it is exactly what he is doing. Every thing he does is aimed at overloading the system to the point that higher taxes will be demanded by those depending on the government.

It will get to a point where taxing all workers 100% won't be enough to pay for the system. We may be at that point right now.

I just watched Allen West on Greta's show and he was also talking about the Cloward Piven strategy.

He thinks it's deliberate too, to overload and collapse the welfare system and force a national income system.

The DUmmies were talking about a guaranteed income system earlier, which I assume means the same thing.

I don't know how I missed this thread.
But I caught it before it ran away.
I was introduced to Cloward & Piven by Blenn Beck.
The same applies to Alinsky.
Luckily owebuma is inept and lazy. Otherwise if we had a real dedicated trotskyite at the helm we would be right where the libs have always wanted us.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.
