Yeah, the big guy won the "Steve" two years ago, being the primitive who made the biggest ass of himself in 2012 (www.electstevedawes.com and all that).

One can repeat for all the awards excepting the "Willie."

Perceptions of course vary, and dissent is welcome, but I myself am a little hard-pressed to see where he made a particular ass of himself this year.

IMO, all he ever does is make an ass of himself. Every. Single. Post. shows what an ass he truly is. Now that could just be me and my particular dislike of Captain Neckbeard, which is entirely possible. And if we're honest, it would be nigh impossible for him to top his 2012 showing because that was asshattery of the highest caliber. I just think that, given his fragile health, it would be nice to give him his namesake award one last time. A fitting tribute, if you will.

Robin is an irresistable choice for the Senti, but I want to nominate the Illinois pervert for his persistence alone:

Kelliekat44 for being demonstrably stupid and slavishly pro-0bama. True Blue Door for being a pompous blowhard know-it-all ass. Canonical examples to follow.

Thank you, sir!

I decided that on the ballot thread, I'm going to include a "voter's guide" for each of the candidates.  I'll try, but I can't guarantee it will be utterly neutral.  But I'll give my best shot at being impartial.

For the "stewert," the freeloadingest primitive, I'd like to nominate are_grits_groceries, the little old lady down south who's begged a great many times for money to pay for repairs on her motor vehicle, or veterinary bills for her cats--but then allegedly had ample cash in hand to donate to the Democrat senatorial candidate in Kentucky this past year.

And also, for the same award, the Left Coast2020 primitive; his saga actually began in December 2013, but it carried on into the new year, until spring.

Left Coast2020 (1,958 posts)    Tue Dec 10, 2013, 11:37 PM

I may need the help of a fellow DU'ER in Nor-Cal/Sac area.

Its difficult for me to post this, but I am running out of options. I am being forced out of my current residence and could be homeless by end of month.

The good news I will be out and done with tea bag landlord. The bad news is this came at begining of month with no warning.

Getting a bit discouraged too. I have been communicating with local churches and coming up empty. I get lots of prayers, but nothing encouraging.

I guess this is not a good place to come to but I consider this my only family--at the moment. Can't talk about life and emotions to a tea bagger who is only good at bashing Mr. O, playing computer games all day, and watching her favorite episode of O'Liely.

Though they don't know my politics, I am a TRUE progressive and thrive on intelligent conversation, people with common sense, and those who love their fellow man.

The stress in my stomach is getting increasely more painfull as I have never had to experience this ever. I care about people and show compassion to those around me.

I thought about this, and decided I needed to reach out to my fellow DU-er's since I am getting increasingly scared. Just wondering if there is something out there in what I know as my only family at the moment. Need to see if this can help keep me from falling apart totally. I'm a fighter, but sometimes you can't do these things alone.

Not sure what else to say. I'll keep it there and see what happens.

Thank you

I'm open to other options outside this area.

This contest is going to be hard for me.  First of all, I don't like the Primitives.

Well, then, you should consider voting nutcase nadin for DOTY.

In a very small way, she's a kindred spirit.

No one holds the DUmp in deeper contempt than the crazy bald dwarf.

He may have, sadly, sprung loose of this mortal coil; remember, he wasn't in very good shape.  And the primitives, with their short-term or no-term memories, forgot who he was ten minutes after he disappeared from Skins's island, and so wouldn't have marked his passing.

Two others who possibly sprung loose this past year would be dear old sweet Lu, "Lucinda" of the cooking and baking forum, whose demise wouldn't have been noted because she rarely if ever posted, and the Las Vegas Leviathan.

<<<thinks the primitives need to do a better job keeping track of, checking in on, each other.

The Walrus brought me to CC, and he has all but disappeared from DU.  I don't know what to do with myself.

Come to think of it, walrus-face, the brain-damaged primitive, has a long and inglorious history of spewing hate on Skins's island; surely at least ten years.

That's why there was so much glee and jubilation when he screwed up, hoisted his own petard, caused his own demise; many of us thought it long, long past time he got what he deserved.  And he got it doing it to himself, all by himself.

It was a long time a-comin'.

And so I'm nominating "DainBramaged" for the "Willie," as one of the most-memorable primitives of all time.

For the Steven Dawes award I nominate farmer Mo.
So far this year it has driven off the long suffering husband, called the authorities on a tenant largely because she wouldn`t let her child hang out with the crazy old bat.
All the while it turned a clean vacant lot into an overgrown, stinking, rat infested mess full of chicken shit, junk vehicles, garbage and weeds.
Surprisingly all this has led to the zoning board receiving numerous complaints and filing several charges.

Of course in the world of a DUmbass mind,it did nothing wrong and any suggestion it did is greeted with rage, scorn and insults.
It should tell you how much of a mess you have made of everything you touch when your best defender and friend is skippy.

Nominations as of this morning, December 2, with five more days to go:

I'm finding a "truebluegreen" and a "trueblue2007," but no "true blue door" primitive.

Coach, my dear lad, here is but one example:

Quote
True Blue Door (1,509 posts)

We should know by now which races are rigged. Do we?
By now we should already have a firm accounting of voters who have been denied the right to vote due to Jim Crow 2, and have a good statistical grasp of what districts their exclusion will be decisive in. So I'd like to know the following if anyone has this information:

1. How many do we know firmly to have been excluded nationwide?
2. How many more may be excluded on election day?
3. How many local, state, and federal seats is this likely to be decisive in?
4. Is this likely to be the decisive factor in determining control of the Senate?
5. Are there any states whose legislatures will fall - or fail to become Democratic - due to Jim Crow 2?
6. Governorships?
7. Is the Democratic Party prepared to call races where Jim Crow 2 is decisive fraudulent?
8. Is the Democratic Party prepared to call the loss of the Senate or statehouses fraudulent if due to Jim Crow 2?
9. Has the Democratic Party prepared effectual strategic and tactical mechanisms to resist the illegal political actions of such illegitimate office thieves, when The Five fascist revolutionaries on the Supreme Court inevitably find in favor of their accomplices?
10. Assuming the Democratic Party will do nothing, probably because Hillary Clinton (superb Republican that she is) will say not to, does anyone else have a plan?

TBD is a relative newcomer whose MO is to write long, rambling posts filled with lists (which are sometimes enumerated, as above), and which require readers to do a substantial amount of homework. When anyone points out that DU is a message board and not a home base for the farts of a failed revolutionary, TBD gets all huffy-puffy. On a site filled with pompous blowhards, TBD seems to have two blowholes. Lest you think I'm simply picking on the man, see if you can remember this stinkeroo:

Quote
Star Member True Blue Door (1,509 posts)

Please stop posting the following idiotic bullshit:
1. Claiming that American culture is conservative.
2. Broad smears about American voters.
3. Media-driven narratives about America as a whole choosing the GOP.
4. Whining about the Democratic Party or its leaders.

We have watched the Republican Party prepare this result for a long time through utterly lawless, criminal, and to some extent treasonous means, including nakedly unconstitutional vote suppression tactics, the elimination of campaign finance laws through fascist revolutionary judicial fiat, and other methods that go far beyond their otherwise legitimate ****ery (e.g., campaign lying). We know for a fact they engaged in crime to produce this result - we just don't know if they would have won anyway.

So we still do not know whether these criminal tactics were decisive. In other words, we don't know yet whether the result bears any meaningful resemblance to what actually happened at the polls. So don't waste anyone's time whining about what this election means, or who is to blame for it, unless you have something factual to contribute to serve as a basis, because you can't know the significance of events whose details you don't even know.

Every election that Republicans win or steal, the same script plays out. The same idiotic bullshit listed above gets said, so predictably that the process might as well be automated. Well stop it. Stop acting like robots. Stop being prompted by the media. Their scripts are written in advance - years in advance, frankly - but yours don't have to be. You are conscious human beings, so act like it.

Start asking important questions and putting together information to answer them. When you have your answers, then start talking about what to do with them. Here are the questions I have:

1. How many voters do we know firmly to have been illegally excluded nationwide?
2. How many local, state, and federal seats were decided on the basis of voter exclusions?
3. Was this decisive in determining the Senate?
4. Was it decisive in determining state legislatures?
5. Governorships?
6. Were other problems that have been identified decisive in any of these races?
7. Is the Party actively investigating these problems, and the effects of vote suppression?
8. Will the Party declare races decided due to vote suppression fraudulent?
9. If it is found that the Senate majority was determined by vote suppression, is the Party prepared to declare GOP attempts to assume control of the Senate fraudulent and resist any illegal actions they attempt to take?

Until we have at least some answers to these questions, there is nothing else to say in a broad way about the election. Individual races can be commented upon competently, but anything broader in the absence of specific facts is just either speculation or media propaganda parroting unworthy of a strong citizen.

Notice the paternalism, the question-begging rhetorical pomposity, and the general whiff of IPA and lentil gas.

TBD deserves the Academy's consideration.

When searching primitives, I always have a problem with "searching" more than one word, in this case "true blue" or "blue door" or "true blue door;" I get miles and miles of irrelevant junk, not worth sifting through.

I dunno what others do, to avoid that.

A reminder that it's only three and a half days before nominations close for the Top DUmmies of 2014.

It appears a pretty strong ballot, although there's four or five noteworthy primitives who're still being overlooked.  But never fear; to conclude this thread circa suppertime Saturday evening, I'll nominate them if no one else has.

Since computer issues have been resolved, I hope to finish the other nominating thread, the one in another forum, later today, so watch for additions.

Which leads to another nomination for the "group" award, the primitive scammers.

They're not a cohesive group--they're more like a whole lot of lone wolves acting independently of each other but with the same end in mind, that of bilking the other primitives of their welfare cash, because it's easier than going out and earning the money themselves, for whatever it is they're fishing for money.

Think of stewert, are_grits_groceries, the left coast primitive, the rbrnmw primitive, the child molestor in Chicago (no, not Fat Che; I checked the sexual offenders registry for Fat Che, coming up dry, which surprised the Hell out of me), chubby Amber--they have no association with each other, and don't coordinate things with each other, but they all have the same goal.
