http://www.democraticunderground.com/115745427Oh my.
By the way,
Day 60 that dear old sweet Lu, hostess of the forum, has been missing.
But if anybody wants to know what happened to her, it's the latest chapter in "the rabid terrapin primitive visits franksolich."

3. Deli fried chicken
which I'll just warm up in the oven, with habanero sauce. I just made a red cabbage slaw to go with it. Not sure of anything else yet.
(I went to the grocery store to pick up a couple of items, and the fried chicken was an impulse buy. Damn you deli counter!!)

6. deli fried chicken here, too!
We are having a hot spell through the weekend. In the 90s. So deli fried chicken it is! Safeway has eight pieces of legs and thighs for $5 today -- I like the seasoning, and the bark is excellent.
With it, sweet corn, cucumber salad, and a big fruit plate.
Good weekend coming up with my beloved Ducks football Saturday, and our MLS Timbers Sunday.
What's going on down there? How's your weather?

7. Yep, it was $5 here too
at Vons (Safeway/Vons/Pavilions - same thing). I think that was what caught my eye. And since I dig the dark meat, it was like the Pipe Piper calling.
Still hot here in the high desert of SoCal - close to 100F. Oddly, I'm looking forward to having Hurricane Norbert come north and give us some (chance of) rain a few days from now. Man, do we need it!

8. My sister is in Temecula to attend a wedding.
Before leaving, she kept telling me that despite being, say 99, it would only feel like about 95 since there's no humidity. I didn't think there would be much difference. Hot is hot. The wedding is in San Diego so I imagine it'll be more comfortable there.

5. I'm making a sausage pizza.
Sliced tomato on the side.
<<<has a really bad cold.
<<<had a "cherry" tomato, four aspirin, and a slice of celery for supper; also, a whole half-gallon of real orange juice.

9. this is the "great minds" thread
I did the same thing others on this thread did--picked up something from the grocery that would be easy.
In this case, pork ribs that were already marinating in BBQ sauce. They are just finishing up on the grill now.
I am also doing peppers on the grill.
