Maybe not.  I happen to believe that if the dad had cut loose and killed the bastard, that would have let the sonuvabitch off too damned easy.

Very true. However, I think just putting a bullet in their ****ing head is the solution. Cheap, gives peace of mind to the parents in term s of the kid's attacker being gone for sure, and also makes SURE it was his LAST victim. We as a people want revenge to the nth degree on any kind of child abuser, and I totally understand why. However, to eradicate them, and bring them to an abrupt end seems to me to be the way to go. Then it's done.

I like the Police Chief's choice of words: "I don't see anything we should charge the dad with ...". IOW, justice and what the perp did was a prime consideration.

Now, if the Chief had sail "could" that would worry me. It would signify a police department looking for reasons - no matter how crazy or perverse - to charge people with crimes. That seems not to be this OD's or Police Chief's mindset.

I come close to wishing the USC's prohibition against "cruel and unusual punishment" didn't apply to sexual molesters of children.

The worst part is that he will be get out of prison and do the same thing to another child. That is the MO of these sick bastards.
