Young mom abandons infant at Columbus Circle subway platform, jumps on a train and disappearsWitnesses said the mom was traveling north on the uptown 1 train around 11:50 a.m. on Monday with the 7-month-old baby in a stroller. When the train arrived at Columbus Circle, the mom pushed the baby onto the platform and then jumped back on the train. A good Samaritan found the baby and alerted MTA officials. The mom was in her 20s or 30s, cops said.Witnesses said the mother was traveling north on the uptown 1 train around 11:50 a.m. with a red-and-white polka dot stroller, according to cops.When the train doors opened at Columbus Circle, she pushed the baby girl out of the doors and onto the platform — then whirled around and jumped back onto the train moments before it took off, police said.The mother was in her 20s or 30s, cops said.
