Why are the DUmmies watching Nat Geo channel anyway? It's owned by Fox and Rupert Murdock.  :-)

“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

Not only Nat Geo but Fox owns about 30% of HULU also.

So while some of the DUmmies are trying to keep from putting 1 thin dime in Murdock's pocket they have no choice.

Motley Fool has a good article on just what Fox is up to with this remake of Cosmos. It's all about making a few dollars and branding.

Which is a good thing.

Why Fox’s ‘Cosmos’ Is a Smart Risk

Quote
The TV industry is changing -- what once was a big success may now no longer be as viable. As a result companies will do anything to boost their ratings and in turn their financial bottom lines. Fox (NASDAQ: FOXA  ) has embraced this concept like no other and tonight its first of many 2014 investments into "event programming" begins with Cosmos: A Space Time Odyssey.
