Saw a car slathered with anti-choice and pro-confederacy bumperstickers this past weekend
I was up in PA at a Farmers Market and parked beside a car that had all these anti-choice stickers and a few confederate flags plastered on their bumper.

It just baffles my mind. So allowing a woman to make her own choice with her body is evil but celebrating an American Heritage that used the slavery of African Americans as the backbone of their economy is good?

Crazy people out there!

Nice farmers market but they need a bigger parking lot. And the car did have PA plates so that's even worse - a car in a Yankee state celebrating southern hate.

3. Yeah, the Rebel flag thing

I had to run a work errand that required a strong back, so I took with me one of the high school kids who works at our store. He had been talking about maybe joining the Army. Good for you, kid, that's not a bad plan given your apparent lack of money (and I deeply respect the Army, having done several joint tours with them). We got to talking about tattoos (as in, if you've got a bunch of gang shit, the Army won't take you), and he said he had a confederate flag on his arm, and was getting one that said "Rebel" across his shoulders.

We talked about that, and we talked about "Are you a racist?" Because, he should realize, that's what a lot of people think when they see the flag. I told him an Army recruiter might ask him the same thing. I didn't feel bad a bit. If you are going to have a tattoo that implies an ideology (which I think the confederate flag does), better be prepared to explain how you do or don't subscribe to it. For the rest of your life. He honestly couldn't answer that he wasn't a racist (at least he was honest), so I pretty much told him he was a lousy candidate for the Army. Like the military needs any more of that shit. He said he grew up in Washington State around a lot of thug culture, so that's what turned him into this. (???) Anyway, he's about as redneck as it gets. Weird. I wonder how his life will turn out. The military has given a LOT of disadvantaged kids a chance, but dang, you've got to at keep that negative shit under wraps.

As an American, it is his free choice to get any tattoo he wants. It's also my prerogative to make some judgments about said tattoo. He's not a bad kid, as far as I can tell (which isn't very far, admittedly). Is there a sliding scale of tattoo offensiveness? What if it had been a KKK? A swastika?

I tried to glean from him whether he believed in the ideology, or was just trying to fit in, some "Hey, we've got our own gang" inclusion thing. Alas, that level was way over his 17 yr old brain.

Is the flag racist? Debate.org says 50/50 yes/no. http://www.debate.org/opinions/is-the-confederate-flag-racist. Maybe I overthought the whole thing? Maybe it's way over MY head?

If so, he missed a chance to enlighten ME.

     The bumper stickers left a bad taste in LynneSin's mouth, figuratively, but also probably literally, as from her pictures one could reasonably assume that she expressed her dismay by eating them. Along with anything between her and the stickers, which, one can hope, included a bag of dicks.

      As with all bouncies, I doubt the details, but not the facts themselves: it's perfectly plausible that LynneSin can always be found where enormous food stores are kept.

You know, I used to have a rather higher opinion of the LynneSin primitive, than I do now.

I used to guess that perhaps she was some person of consequence in Delawarean politics or government; probably not a big wheel, but at least a medium-sized wheel.

What always bothered me, though, was that such people usually have platinum medical insurance, and she never seemed interested in having something done about that egg-sized protuberance jutting out of her chin.

But just before her latest hiatus from Skins's island--it lasted a long time, remember--it dawned upon me that while she's pretty big, she's not especially bright.

So now I guess she's probably just some lower-level cog in a bureaucracy.

Well, the southern states were paying 70 to 80 percent of the taxes that supported the federal government at that time.....so the government shared in the guilt.

I know, I know, I know, it's not nice to judge people by how they look, but one has to consider my, uh, "special circumstances."

Being deaf, I have to be up close and face-to-face with any person who's talking to me, so as to grasp what that person's saying.  I've written about this before; surely I've seen the insides of more mouths, the conditions of more teeth, than even dentists.  I'd rather not be that intimate, but well, that's my life.  I have to be, if I want to "hear" someone.

And alas there's certain physical characteristics--usually not the fault of the other person; it's just the way that person was made--that considerably raise my level of discomfort.  With decent and civilized people, it's just a small matter of "blanking" such a feature from this mind, as if it isn't even there--but with primitives, who boast and purposely strut aspects of ugliness about themselves, even imaginary corrosive acids can't wash those features away.

I'm not going to post a full photograph of the LynneSin primitive; I'm a nice guy.

However, I will post a photograph of her chin.

When intensely trying to "listen" to another person, that is a big distraction; it's enough of a distraction that it deflects from whatever that person's trying to tell me.  Usually I see it as some sort of blob that flip-flaps up and down.

If this event actually happened, I'm sure that by "confederate flags" she means Confederate Battle Flags.

I wonder if this primitive gets butt-hurt when it sees a flag from an African country. Unless the stats have changed Amnesty International claims that the place where slavery is still most prominent is on the continent of Africa. Does it get butt-hurt when it sees a flag from a Moslem country? You know, the places where women are treated like slaves?

I can honestly say I've never seen a chin like that in all my life.

I've seen many of those bumps, or protuberances, but more so in pictures of primitives than in real life.

The DemGirl primitive and Fat Che have one too, for example.

I suspect I don't notice them so much in real life, because in real life, usually I'm dealing with decent and civilized people, and if someone has one, I don't "see" it.

Recall what I said about cousin nadin; one's character and manners have a great deal to do with how we see someone.  Vision is not an exclusive trait of eyesight.  If a person's unpleasant, one tends to focus on the unpleasant physical characteristics.  If a person's decent and civilized, one tends to focus on that person's aesthetic qualities.

I'm sure that there's some here on conservativecave who might be a little unaesthetic (franksolich is no great shakes himself) in some way, but if I were to meet them in real life, I wouldn't notice it.  As far as I'm concerned, there's nobody but beautiful people here.

It was two, three, months ago, that one of our members admitted she has the same, uh, problem as the BainsBane primitive, which caught me by surprise.
