This is getting old. Though we might have gotten in frame the perp (one of them) getting nabbed by the cops.

This is fire number 12 or 13 by my count. And yes that was THAT CLOSE. No, that is not a zoom in with the lens. It was the kit lens before I switched to video.

Weirdest thing I have ever seen. Fire trucks are going through the easement, and damn it, there is a fire, and people at the Y continued their soccer game like nothing. Yes, I did film that, and pan to that. Weirdness.

No, local news did not want to buy it. They had too much video, and damn, a lot of people give them video for free. Would have given it away for free, just to crow that she was "published".
Actually, it just looks like a bon-fire.  News outfits look for newsy photos.

2. Several, and the first fire of the day

was producing white smoke, which tells me incomplete combustion, likely an accelerant. Hell, this one took off like a torch, almost exploded. We watched it slowly take off and then, well what you see there. 
New one for the resume'?  Crack arson investigator?

Some kits aren't bad if you know how the use them.  gNads, doesn't. :(
If I recall, she has an entry level Nikon with the entry kit lens.

As a "correspondent" she doesn't do a very good job of describing what she is doing.  I assume the first blooded sentence means she was holding the camera rather than using a tripod as you should while doing time lapsed night photography.  The second bolded statement means she was using a cable plunger type trigger to activate the shutter.

The camera she uses, doesn't accept the old plunger type release.
It's all electronic.  That's what makes it even funnier.

If my memory hasn't gone to pot, it's a Nikon 5100.

A number that small is not that hard to remember if one is really counting.  Which is it - 12, or 13?  You really have no idea, do you, despite saying you have your count.

For you gNads, a more accurate accounting might well be "...some fires..." or "...another one of several..."

I did a nadin, and 100K acres wouldn't even crack the top 25 in CA history.

Then again, I was in Idaho in 1988 when the Yellowstone fire was going on.  I remember waking up and dusting a 1/4 inch of ash off my truck.  And I was in Idaho Falls--150 miles away from the fire.

As usual, she spelled it wrong.  Arundo is any kind of tall cane like grass that grows in clump form.

Yes Dori, I have  wondered about Nads fascination  with fire and the wanting to be on the scene wearing her firefighter jacket and getting all smoked up as she photographed small fires but never went into the big ones to take pictures of those fighting the fires.

As a Photo Juno why is she not photo the real story, the photos of the men and woman fighting the fire.?    The amount of man power and the responders who are on the scene ?

Is it possible she is known to the police and firefighters and not allowed on the scene as she most likely interfears with the operations ?
