Obama: I am going to need Clintons
From CNN Political Producer Alexander Marquardt, CNN Political Producer Chris Welch
Obama praised Bill Clinton in an interview with CNN.
(CNN) – The same day that Bill Clinton’s office issued a statement saying that the former president is “committed to doing whatever he can†for Barack Obama, the Illinois senator told CNN that he and the Clintons will be “working closely together over the next couple of weeks to put together a plan.â€
“They’re going to want to campaign actively on behalf of the Democratic ticket,†said Obama, “I am going to need them.â€
“Bill Clinton is one of the most intelligent, charismatic political leaders that we have seen in a generation and he has got a lot of wisdom to impart,†he added.
...............
“ going to be a force to be reckoned with not only in the Senate but hopefully if I'm successful in the White House she's going to be one of my key partners in making sure that we’re moving forward on issues like healthcare that she cares so deeply about.â€
The Obamaite primitives are a little touchy about this.

6. It is true that Obama needs Clinton and her supporters
But I just don't think there's a need to come out and post about it. It's rather obvious to anyone following politics.
I just hope the OP realizes that this post could rehash primary battles, something we really don't need.

9. So you'd prefer no mentions of Clinton
even when there are news stories about her and her role in the presidential campaign?

10. Not at all
I just thought that this particular post could lead to some Obama supporters saying we don't need her and yada yada yada.
I guess I was wrong because this thread seems to be going ok, I guess
Oh, but it isn't.

27. There were plenty of posts yesterday to the effect that "Obama doesn't need Bill Clinton"
Fortunately, Obama is wiser than some of his supporters, who can't stop bashing Bill.

33. It isn't the LEAST BIT
obvious to many of the regular posters here at DU. Have you seen some of the very recent threads still bashing both of the Clintons?

5. Yes, they could be helpful but mostly he needs them to not interfere.
It was very nice of Barack to say those things, and clearly he and Hillary are working nicely together.
But Hillary is not the keystone to his victory.
He's quite a powerful and persuasive figure without the Clintons around him, some would say that he's more powerful that way.
Nonetheless, more heads and hands can never hurt.
So, all hands on deck!

12. This will not go over very well among some here at DU.
The cboy4 primitive of course is the one who stuck up for the worthier Democrat candidate, and got much grief from the Hate-filled Obamaite primitives for it.
Contrary to rumors rippling through the internet, the cboy4 primitive is NOT franksolich's mole.

34. Do you find it difficult to sleep at night with all of that animosity in your heart?
Hell, all the primitives, with so much Hate in their hearts, probably have difficulty sleeping at night.

35. How is posting something Obama said stirring up shit?

40. It's contextual: an implied or perceived "I told you so" or something...
given the passionate prior OPs from the author, and some heated exchanges in the past among a number of members of the two camps.

49. Well it implies that Bill and Hillary have value to the Democratic party, puts them in a positive light. Some people can't handle that. So it's called stirring up shit.
Oh my. Famous last words:

38. Obama's being polite, trying to include them - imo he doesn't really need them.
