If I could, I'd like to ask for a clarification.

Specifically about groups...I'm not sure I understand...can groups be included in a nomination for all the awards or just a specific group award?

If this question has been asked before I apologize,  I have been desperately trying to learn how a ford power stroke motor works so I can help my brother.

No apologies needed; this is the first time for a group award.

The intent's to keep the Top DUmmies as individual awards, as incentive for primitives to give us their individual best.  I think it's best to keep the special awards--the Willie, the Steve, the Rob, and the Nadin--for individuals only too.

And so if one has a group in mind, best to just nominate it (for whatever reason) for the overall group award.

I seem to remember Mr.Dorkio (Mr. Scorpio for the lurking DUmb****s) doing something noteworthy-like over the past year.  I nominate him for DOTY.

Yes,and rock head Mineral Man too.

He's not exactly a friendly old fart, is he?

Him being an old hippie, one thinks he'd be laid back, relaxed, and mellow when over here, but those few times he's said something to us, it's always been pissy.

I have two nominations for DOTY. But before I proceed, allow me to mention two DUmmies that with just a wee bit of effort could in the future make it to the top of DUmmie-hood. They just need to polish up and fine tune their stuff so to speak. Those Dummies I speak of are dixiegrrrrl and bigdarryl. Both have potential and both have screen names that just scream "look at me, I'm a lib.", but they still have to put forth just a smiggen more effort to make the cut. Perhaps this mention as a possible DOTY honor will give them just the push they need for 2014.

OK, so allow me to nominate two more DOTY contenders for this year, treestar and Scuba. I think we can all agree that Scuba needs the attention and treestar wants desperately for everyone to think she sits in a tree and poops in a bucket that some underling ground dweller empties. Consider these nominations my humanitarian duty in an attempt to improve the self esteem of two needy DUmmies.

All of these contenders for the various awards and yet the award for the "Steve" has a single nominee, Doug Bulna.

It's almost not worth it- a foregone conclusion.

I might nominate someone as a dark horse against him (if nobody else does), just so he doesn't have the satisfaction of running away with all of the votes.

I wouldn't do it just for spite, if that's your reason.

I do believe he would be the first winner to run unopposed. In future campaigns, we could always look back and say that there was a DUmmy that had his award won so decisively, that no one even dared to run against him. It would add greater humiliation to his victory. I don't believe that it would ever happen again. This is Doug Bulna's perfect storm.

You make very good points.  I assure you that Doug has two of my votes already locked up, especially after digging through his post history from earlier this year.

The guy is an asshole through and through, and believe that's the reason his fellow primitives have already forgotten about him.  Not even the primitives want to hang around somebody like that all the time, and I can't say I blame them.

I agree.

It would be a first, and it would be a double-barrelled distinction for the brain-damaged primitive--the first time a primitive ran unopposed, and the first time a primitive was unanimously selected, for an award.

The guy needs something to cheer him, and this could do it, if it happened.

Doug . . . naaah, that's Omaha Steve that would finish last in an unopposed race, behind "Other." :whistling:

I was gong to nominate another DUmb**** based on the thread that BattleHymn brought up about Doug getting his butt plug inverted about that newspaper which published all of the names of legal hangun permit holders then getting threats (Cooley Hurd), but has said primitive done anything of note since? :???:  I'll put that nomination on hold for the time being.

I'm gonna be mean here, and further splinter the vote for the Willie, the award give the most-memorable primitive.

So far we got:

the late red round one
the bitter old Vermontese cali primitive
the big guy in Bellevue
(the late) Chief S itting Bull, the bird-smacking stoned red-face primitive
the sparkling old dude

That's a really good selection, although I always thought Chief S itting Bull was the Greatest Primitive, Ever, and long overdue for recognition that he set the standards for primitivity.  He was the textbook primitive, the exemplar, the paragon, the model.

But in past years, I couldn't get many interested in him, and so I gave up.

But I'm mystified as to why no one's mentioned poor stupid Beth, known both as EFerrari and sfexpat2000, and so I'm nominating her for the Willie.  She's been gone from Skins's island for about 15-16 months now, and is sorely missed, because she was such a prolific poster, and in so many different forums.

I believe she was, and still is, the all-time poster on Skins's island, despite that she'd been a member only since November 2004, when she was among the Andyites emigrating to Skins's island after the elections that year.

One could argue there were certain small forums that managed to stay animated and lively because of her presence; the rural life forum, for example.  It's been collecting cobwebs since she left.

The sfexpat2000-franksolich love affair rocked the internet, and needs no explanation, and I think some homage needs to be paid the one and only primitive who was an equal match to franksolich.  I won, not because of wits, but simply because I had more staying power, more endurance, more tenacity, than she did.

She came very close.  Admirable woman, poor stupid Beth.

Come to think on it, the only DUmbass that wouldn't like to see it happen is Dougie himself. If some FNG nominates someone else, we'll know that that person is Dougie's mole.

I was going to. Then I though of all of the DUmmies that have left the island or post so infrequently that they are almost nonexistent. There's Beth, Horse with no brain, The Panther, Mrs Dawson, bobbolink, xultar (sorely missed), Joanne98 and HannahBell.

Some, such as Anne Pritchett, AKA Proud2BlibKansan, the Die alte Sau primitive, the dysmenopausal Kansas school teacher, are not missed in the least.

Yeah, I don't miss the Die alte Sau at all; I keep hoping she performs a self-abortion of herself, but alas she pops in Skins's island once in a while, showing she hasn't.

I believe the subway cat is now history, though; I'm surprised no one's thought to nominate her.

I checked, to see where they're at now, former top DUmmies:

2005 Distressed American -- gone
       William Pitt -- still around
       mopaul/phalloscraper -- gone

2006 William Pitt -- still around
        phalloscraper/mopaul -- gone
        StellaBlue -- gone

2007 TomInTib/too many AKA to list -- gone
Proud2BLib -- for the most part, gone
        sfexpat2000/EFerrari -- gone

2008 TomInTib/too many AKA to list -- gone
Husb2Sparkly/Stinky the Clown -- for the most part, gone
Proud2BLib -- for the most part, gone

2009 greenbriar/demtenjeep -- gone
        bobolink --gone
        EFerrari/sfexpat2000 -- gone

2010 Proud2BLibKansan -- for the most part, gone
Stinky the Clown/Husb2Sparkly -- for the most part, gone
       EFerrari/sfexpat2000 -- gone

2011 nadinbrzezinki -- still around, but fading
       Taverner -- gone
Omaha Steve -- still around, but only a shadow of his former self

2012 BanTheGOP -- gone
nadinbrzezinski -- still around, but fading
       Taverner -- gone

One wonders why that is, so many primitives winning, and then walking away.

You know, actually poor stupid Beth, then known as sfexpat2000, should've been the first Top DUmmie, back in 2005 (she ended up 5th or 6th; I forget which), because of her role in inciting the scam that rocked the internet.

She was by far more interesting than the ridiculous Distressed American.

But back then, we were still at our old home, which had some real sourasses who were "tired" of the scamdal--as if someone was pointing a gun to their heads ordering them to read all the Andy threads--and did everything they could, to obstruct proponents of open and honest fund-raisers.

And there were enough of them to keep poor stupid Beth from top spot.

I'm really glad none of these sourasses came over here with us.

I do believe that many of the winner of the DOTY ending up getting tombstoned in short order. Then again, unless you're in a clique, such as cbayers nazi like group, you end up TS'd anyway.

With an almost perfect DUmmy resume, this canidate for DOTY, at least on paper, has it all. A bI-pOLAR condition for which he takes meds (and thus of course  goes off said meds from time to time), retired union worker, and is a self-taught expert on micro/macro economics and mob psychology. This individual knows workers rights! The only two issues detracting from is canidate is while he has the required nasty tendency, he uses it at the wrong time and for the wrong reasons and since retirement this year he has not put in the same amount to quality posting time as when he was "working". I offer up for DOTY nomination DUmmy fumesucker.

Another favorite DUmmy that has been working on "broading her horizons" in 2013 by shifting focus from expert commentary on all things political in Central and South America to socialist wonderlands in Europe is DUmmy Judy Lynn. So I nominate her for a DOTY also.

Judy Lynn and Beth were both on their knees for Hugo.

On DU ll, she dominated the LBN section. No one dared to cross her. Her opinion was to be considered as fact. Not so much on DU lll.

She's still a bitch though.

Yeah, the subway cat's two sisters did what her mother, or Amber's sisters (in the case of the convenience store primitive), didn't have the courage to do; they got her put away some place where she's watched over and safe.

She's still eligible for the Willie, though, if someone wants to nominate her.

The William Rivers Pitt award is for the most memorable primitive, and hence not dependent upon what a primitive was, or did, this past year.  It could be any primitive going clear back to the beginning.
