No, my friends, there’s only one really progressive idea. And that is the idea of legally limiting the power of the government. That one genuinely liberal, genuinely progressive idea — the Why in 1776, the How in 1787 — is what needs to be conserved. We need to conserve that fundamentally liberal idea. That is why we are conservatives. --Bill Whittle

  • A little bit of Anti-Hero goes a LONG way.
I wonder how difficult it is to get a transcript of this trial ? I suspect there are details that have been "omitted"....

I live in Miami, so I probably could ask for City of Miami v. Carlos Miller.

And Conservatives are believers, not thinkers. They are nazi’s who believe whatever their government tells them to believe. Just wait until Martial Law is declared and the police start going door to door and routing you out of your homes. Wait until they withhold electricity, and food, and communications to control the masses. Do you think their gonna ask you if your Conservative or Liberal?

You Cons are stupid sheep! Martial Law will come before the next election. I’m not going fight it, I know it’s coming. But I’m going laugh at the frickin stupid conservatives who empower the governments plans and think they are special and that, through their belief, they’ll be spared. Wake up, only Isreal is special to this government!

It's the Joooooooooos!!!!

Cops deserve the utmost respect. Aside from troops, they're the only entity, as a group, that'll take a bullet so you don't have to bleed....and they do it at a low pay as well. Are there a few bad eggs? Of course. I will not, however, sit there and talk shit about cops for simply doing their jobs or those few bad eggs. ...and I have been arrested, actually, a few times.  :-)  I know a lot of cops. A Columbia County Lieutenant lives right across the street from me. Nicest guy you'll meet. Break the law, and it doesn't matter who you are, he'll bust you. Isn't that why we, as a civilized populace, have cops? To prevent anarchy?

There's a reason why patriotism is considered a conservative value. Watch a Tea Party rally and you'll see people proudly raising the American flag and showing pride in U.S. heroes such as Thomas Jefferson. Watch an OWS rally and you'll see people burning the American flag while showing pride in communist heroes such as Che Guevera. --Bob, from some news site

Partly.  If they would make it legal for the rest of us to just shoot the scumbags walking around commiting crimes, we wouldn't need as many cops though.

Silly Carlos.  He shouldn't talk so much.

Your second link didn't work.  The court case # is M07010544.  State case # is 132007MM0105440001XX.

Hrm...  Apparently Carlos is also known as Harold.  There's an "AKA" link.  It also shows that he's white, not Hispanic.  Hrm...

1    DISORDERLY CONDUCT    MISDEMEANOR    ACQUITTED BY COURT
2    RESIST OFF W/O VIOL    MISDEMEANOR    PROB W/COMM SERVICE
3    OBSTRT/DISGUISE PERS    MISDEMEANOR    NOLLE PROS

Dunno what that third one is about.  Obstruction?  No clue what "nolle pros" means.

nolle prosequi

Latin for "we shall no longer prosecute." At trial, this is an entry made on the record by a prosecutor in a criminal case stating that he will no longer pursue the matter. An entry of nolle prosequi may be made at any time after charges are brought and before a verdict is returned or a plea entered. Essentially, it is an admission on the part of the prosecution that some aspect of its case against the defendant has fallen apart. Most of the time, prosecutors need a judge’s permission to “nol-pros” a case.

'Nolle Prosequi' means the prosecutor chose not to pursue criminal charges.  They basically dropped it.

They finally convicted the bastard. Good. I remember when he was recounting the story on DU about being "hassled by 'The Man' yesterday".

That is the idiot link that keeps on giving. :-)

Carlos needs to STFU. I think the judge should make his community service something to do with cleaning memorials or graveyards of service personnel. Yeah, that will never happen. But man I'd love it. Or he can come up here and sweep the sidewalks around the fallen police officer memorial. God, I really hate this prick.

I'm sure the judge would LOVE to see what is being written on Carlos/Harold's blog.

I wonder if it is a violation of his probation?  Wouldn't it suck to get thrown in jail for a dumbass blog? :thatsright:

Associating with criminals is a violation of ANY probation.

Looks to me, to be more than one criminal responding to that blog.

BC, I'm deferring to you to email said judge . . .  :-) :hyper: :fuelfire:

question here: Is this from him getting in the way of Miami police last year when they were questioning somebody? I think I remember that on CU and us making fun of him there, or was this for another incident?

That's the one, but I would be amazed if he actually learned some kind of lesson here.

And judging by the posts on that thread and his blog, I'd say that there will most likely be a next time (and it could very well be worse).

So maybe they got the conviction on the second charge and were happy with it.
