1. If I feel energetic enough later. Stir-Fry Beef.
There was a sale on 100% natural beef. Got a 1 1/2 lb top sirloin roast for $4.59/lb. May have to make dash to the Fiesta for soy sauce. Got onions, garlic, straw mushrooms and peppers.

2. Wienies and Beans?
The last of the tomatoes?
I've got to get to Thursday, when we plan to move and get some groceries. Have little left. Should probably make another loaf of bread.
It's going to be rice and beans very soon. I've got a little citrus and some arugula someone brought me.
I need to get creative, but I'm not in the mood.
At least we have wine!

3. leftovers from last night
there's half a cheese enchilada and half a shredded pork tamale. of course, this is assuming my husband doesn't eat it first. if he does, there's leftover pork chops, too.

5. beef kabobs and salad
The salad I was going to make last night, but too tired to finish. It's shredded red cabbage with mandarin oranges and toasted hazelnuts.
Should be colorful and very pretty!
The beef kabobs have been marinated in bourbon.
No wine but I'll prol'ly knock off a Mike's strawberry daiquiri. New flavor.
Question.
Why is that the primitives always have to have booze with their food?

6. Roast turkey breast, which I'll be eating for days!
And will freeze some. Because of mobility problems, I use a grocery delivery service because it's a loooonnnngggg way from my car in the building's garage to my place.
Anyway, this baby was 10 pounds! Very good, but way too much for me. Still, it was a good day to have the oven turned on for 3+ hours. Ate it with dressing, gravy and a tomato on the side. I'll eat the turkey for several days this week, then freeze the rest for a future date.

8. A lower-sodium chef's salad with a big ol' onion bun, halved and...
... broiled with butter, garlic powder and a little crushed red pepper.
Dessert's going to be rice pudding with fresh blueberries.

7. Stir fried fish with noodles.
They were originally intended to be parts of two different meals, but these things just happen around here sometimes.
It turned out to be quite tasty too.

9. Salmon, boiled potato and cole slaw
Sockeye is a little dry. We make a guacamole to go with it.
Now remember, DUmmies lie; all the time, DUmmies lie.
I don't believe but just a little bit of what's been said above--especially the swordfish allegation--I suspect the primitives just dined on leftovers from their refrigerators, cold noodles, half-eaten doughnuts, stale chicken from some take-out restaurant, old soup where the grease has gathered on top like ice on a river, moldy tofu, those sorts of things a primitive might "save" for future consumption.
For the record--and it's been recorded elsewhere here too--last night franksolich dined upon a hamburger, well done, pressed down hard on the grill so as to squeeze out every drop of grease, on a whole-wheat bun, and with ketchup, a few potato chips and heads of raw broccoli, and for dessert, an 8-ounce container of sour cream, eaten as if ice cream.
<<<has no intention of becoming like the primitives, all fattened up, cholesteroled up, hypertensioned up, clogged arteries, impassable bowels, &c., &c., &c.
