Socialism and Capitalism. Am I correct here?
« on: April 01, 2013, 06:49:35 PM »
The DUmmies are always slamming capitalism and bragging on socialism. As a fictional spirit-guide I don't get into economics much. For those of you in the know let me know how correct I am on the below:

It's my understanding that with capitalism you are rewarded for hard-work and innovation while with socialism you are essentially rewarded for the hard-work and innovation of others...for awhile.

WITH CAPITALISM:

Let's take a look at Bob, Fred, Jo, Tom, and Billie. I either didn't include any females because I'm sexist or Jo and Billie really are females and DUmmies are too narrow-minded to notice.

All start on an uneven playing field. Bob and Fred comes from a family with money. Jo and Tom come from a mid-class family. Billie comes from a poor family.

Bob uses his family money and know-how to start a website where lazy liberals can go to bitch. He sets it up to receive donations for make-believe perks and status. His ingenuity increases his money.

Fred lounges around smoking dope, eating Cheetos, and bitching at Bob's website. He eventually blows all his money on dope, Cheetos, and membership at Bob's. His loser mentality has made him poor.

Jo gets on at a plant making minimum wage in an entry level position. Comes in on time. Works late. Learns all the ropes and works hard. Management notices. Jo's work ethic results in promotions which results in increased pay. It takes a time, but eventually Jo is management and is making good money.

Tom works a manual labor job. He makes so-so pay. During the course of his work he sees the need for a do-dad that doesn't currently exist. He works on creating and fine-tuning this do-dad in his spare time. It takes a lot of time, hard work, and effort, but eventually Tom perfects the do-dad. He begins selling them to other's. He starts very small. He manages his money. He works hard. Eventually a market gets established for the do-dad. Before much time has passed Tom is the owner of a large company mass-producing the do-dads. He makes lots of money.

Billie wants to get a degree as a way to get out of the poor house. Billie realizes that it will take time and effort. First Billie wisely chooses a degree in something that is both actually needed and is interesting. Billie works a few part time jobs to pay for college. The degree takes a couple of years longer than normal because Billie can't afford a full class load each quarter.  All the studying and working is aggravating, but Billie is looking toward the future. Finally Billie graduates and gets a good paying job with a company. Billie is no longer in the poor house.

The country and job marked grows with the efforts of Bob, Jo, Tom, and Billie.

WITH SOCIALISM:

Bob, Fred, Jo, Tom, and Billie alll start on an THEORETICALLY even playing field.

Bob uses his know-how to start a website where lazy liberals can go to bitch. The government gets tired of the members bitching about the government not giving them enough money and disappears Bob and the members.

Fred lounges around trying to get by with the money the government gives him.

Jo gets on at a plant making minimum wage in an entry level position. Comes in on time. Works late. Learns all the ropes and works hard. Management notices. Jo's work ethic results in promotions which results in increased pay which the government takes to give to people like Fred. Jo sees that hard work results in the same pay as lounging around so Jo decides to join Fred.

Tom works a manual labor job. During the course of his work he sees the need for a do-dad that doesn't currently exist. He works on creating and fine-tuning this do-dad in his spare time. It takes a lot of time, hard work, and effort, but eventually Tom perfects the do-dad. He tries selling them to other's. The government steps in and takes control of the do-dad. Tom sees that innovation doesn't really pay and decides to join Fred.

Finally Billie graduates and because the government takes from the haves and gives to the have-nots to make things equal most of Billie's money is taken and given to people like Fred. Billie sees the working for the future doesn't matter and decides to join Fred.

The country goes deeper and deeper in the poor house forking over money to more and more people who see that hard work doesn't pay and decide to join Fred. The country eventually collapses or adopts some forms of capitalism.

NAILED IT!!!    :II:
Murphy's 3rd Law:  "You can't make anything 'idiot DUmmie proof'.  The world will just create a better idiot DUmmie."

Liberals are like Slinkys.  Basically useless, but they do bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs...

Global warming supporters believe that a few hundred million tons of CO2 has more control over our climate than a million mile in diameter, unshielded thermo-nuclear fusion reactor at the middle of the solar system.
