Value of autographed astronaut picture.

How much would a nice picture of Charlie Duke on the moon and personally autographed by him be worth?

He's in town visiting kids and grandkids and this picture will be in the Scout Troop auction Saturday.

Son wanted the Henry rifle but last nigh he came home from the scout meeting all excited wanting this instead. The things we do for kids.

not sure of the dollar value of an autographed picture but the value of a young child being excited at the chance to meet someone who was part of a major historical event that most kids today don't even care about is priceless in my opinion.  Duke not only walked on the moon in Apollo 16, he was also CapCom when Apollo 11 made their descent and landing on the moon.

They may have found the engines from the Apollo 11 mission.....

The photo sold for $275. Charlie was in town last week and signed it then. Made a note on it that he had earned his Eagle when he lived here and encouraged other scouts to earn theirs. The deal is that he left his mailing address and will personalize it if the buyer wishes to send it him for personalizing.

The discussion among the bidders was that it would be worth more for resell without the personalization but would be priceless to a family as a heirloom if personalized to a member of the family......I don't know about such things.

It was framed and was about 8X10. Appeared to be a black and white photo until you inspected it closely and noticed a hint of color on a couple of small items in the photo.
