:lmao:

Oh, but this thread is still miniature, compared with this, from July 15, 2010:

"primitives discuss cooking hamburger"
http://www.conservativecave.com/index.php/topic,46375.0

It's getting close, but still not there, compared with this, from October 3, 2011:

"primitives discuss beef stew"
http://www.conservativecave.com/index.php/topic,65049.0

And finally, for comedic relief from a thread that never really took off, but should have, from January 7, 2009:

"primitives watch cats watch primitives cook"
http://www.conservativecave.com/index.php/topic,20383.0

The lackluster response on the last one was probably because w-a-a-a-a-y back then, conservativecave had many many many fewer members than we did later; in January 2009, I don't think we had even a tenth of the members we have now.

THREE?  You decadent 1%er.

I steep one bean in a cup of water that I let sit out in the sun to warm up.  Then I take the bean from the chili and wrap it up to save it for later. Then, I drink the chili.

I can make five or six servings of chili this way before the bean ceases to imbue any flavor to the chili.

When finished, I hope you donate it to the local athist center to help feed the hungry masses.   :pokingpoop:

That would be your local democrat party headquarters. Do they feed winos AFTER elections?

You do have a point. It would have just about as much substance as their promises.  :-)

I too, hate mushrooms.  Nasty, vile things.

You should write a country music song about mushrooms.   :fuelfire:

Something is wrong with you two, mushrooms are delicious.

Mushrooms and chili, wrong.

For those who don't like mushrooms, sauté fresh sliced mushrooms in butter (real butter). After it gets going add a little water and chicken granules, cover. Cook them down, it takes awhile. Make sure you check it often so the water doesn't evaporate. Serve with a medium rare ribeye and call me in the morning.

I do something similar. I add onions and garlic, a splash of white wine (instead of water) and chopped bacon.

Butter and a little worchestershire sauce.  Even better.

No chicken or onions for me either.

Just butter, garlic, kosher salt and pepper. Saute until a nice golden brown. Good with fresh or canned.

All those mushroom recipes are excellent.

Just don't add peas, and don't put any of that stuff in chili.

I'm making ChiliMac for dinner.  I'm using Wolf Brand Chili.  It's a Texas treasure.

Should I serve it "open face" in a large grilled portobello cap?
