Well to be honest this really makes me not like her or even have respect for her like I used to.

Well we always say we want the liberals out of here and to leave. Don't let the door hit you in the butt Tina. Leave now. You won't be missed by many here.

She was one of my favorites too.  It seems to me, if you want to live there, you almost have to become a citizen or leave.

At her age it seems like a non-statement.   The article doesn't say why she's doing it.  She's been there for years.  Maybe it has something to do with legal issues and her partner since they aren't married.

I saw Ike & Tina Turner's Review live decades ago.  She had as much or more energy as Jagger on stage.  What a show.  Ike just looked like a zombie from drug use.  I was so glad for her when she left that bastard.

That's how I felt about Whitney Houston too, another favorite of mine.
I really hoped she had beaten her demons...so sad

I saw her about 10 years ago.  She arrived on stage via stairs from a hovering flying saucer.  She walked down that long set of stairs in at least 6" platform heels in a short Wilma Flintstone-type dress.  She never missed a beat.

There was an anonymous fill-in singer hanging around the stage to pick up the notes Tina couldn't do anymore (at her age it gets tough to do).

I don't care where Tina lives or what she does.  She served her time.

Ike Turner may have been a dickwad in his personal life but he knew the music Industry.  Anna Mae Bullock likely would have never become Tina Turner without him.

As for becoming a Swiss citizen, might as well if you been living there almost 20 yrs.
It is said that branches draw their life from the vine. Each is separate yet all are one as they share one life giving stem . The Bible tells us we are called to a similar union in life, our lives with the life of God. We are incorporated into him; made sharers in his life. Apart from this union we can do nothing.

Good for her.  If only more of the DUmmies would follow her example and GTFO.

It doesn't look like politics was involved .

She probably got tired of getting screwed by the IRS. Although she lives in another country, every nickel paid to her from US royalties, records, etc  is subject to taxation. The long arm of the IRS will grab your money even though you live elsewhere. Renouncing citizenship is the only way to get out of paying the greedy bastards. We are the only country in the world that treats its citizens like this.
