The idea that such a tape could exist and that no one would be surprised tells us all we need to know about Michelle Obama.  I have explored the public statements made by this highly racist woman.  Whether or not a "whitey rant" has been captured on tape is unimportant.  Michelle Obama's character is already a matter of public record.

That is how I feel as well (sorry Mia).  The simple fact that we find this believable is troubling.

No need to apologize BEG.  I see things differently on this.  I don't think she said it, and I would be surprised that a highly educated woman such as Michell Obama would utter the phrase "whitey."  But then again, it could be out there and I would have to reexamine my feelings on such a matter.

I'm going to put it up there with McCain supposedly calling his wife the "c" word.  While I find that highly distasteful and wouldn't put it past him to say such a thing, it doesn't really change how I feel about him.  Now, if he went on a "c" word rant tomorrow, and it was broadcast widely, I would change my stance.

All in all, as of now, neither situation effects anything.

I know you have heard this ad nauseam but considering her thesis in college, the crap she has already said on the campaign trail and the church she and her husband sat in for over 20 years, I wouldn't put it past her.  I think the majority of Americans, if they were intellectually honest, would say it seems possible.

For that very reason, you need to realize that it doesn't matter if this tape exists or not.  The damage of Michele Obama has already been done as far as anyone who is paying attention knows.  BUT.....If this tape exists the MSM and democrats will still claim that it means nothing and will refuse to talk about it.  Just like they refuse to talk about her thesis, the crap she has said on the campaign trail and the whole 20 years in a bigoted church.  I find it odd that a majority of democrats who are voting in the primary's don't seem troubled by that.

As far as McCain calling his wife a C*nt.  Does he have a history of saying vile things to his wife?  Michele Obama has a history as far as "black liberation theology" goes, so this "whitey-gate" is very plausible.

What John McCain may or may not have said to his wife was between the two of them.  Such an exchange does not disparage all women anymore than some woman calling her husband a "dick" would be directed towards all men.

We cannot say the same about the what Michelle Obama may or may not have said, which, if said, would surprise no one.  "Whitey" is an attempt to be insulting to a race of people.  It cannot be exclusive to a second party.  It does not compare to the John McCain situation.

Michelle Obama may have spent a lot of time inside rooms where information was imparted by a "teacher" under the guise of learning, but I would not describe her as being highly educated.  If she is highly educated she hides it well.  My take on Mrs. Obama is that what passes as her education is nothing more than uncritical mental absorption of misinformation, purposeful distortions, and socialistic indoctrination.  She is actually a dumber woman now than she was before she was "educated".

Did you read her Thesis?  Worse English you will not find in a 3rd grade class in L.A. Unified.  Also, if you really look at it, any one of us (except TNO) could have collected the data on one weekend and written it up the next.

Michelle is not running for office, and I really could care less what she says...It's not like I have never said things about her race.

Maybe she was just talking about this famous Iowa/Illinois Quad City Ice Cream Parlor?

I heard on the radio yesterday, and it is hearsay that if elected, Mr Obama would make John Edwards Attorney General. Now there is something to  :bawl: about.

yeah, as far as being the agent of 'change' obama seems to be wanting to surround himself with all the losers of the Dem party in his cabinet.. but its still speculation at this point. he hasnt made those remarks yet, himself.

but who else would he use? the Dems are mostly the party of losers and Kerry and Hilary and Biden and all the rest of them.. they are perfect to help Obama outwit the halfwit that is Jimmy Carter.

I still don't feel there is much meat on the bones of this story, but the thing I do find of interest, is that Team Obama ;

A ) Says it doesn't exist
B ) Says that its an unfortunate choice of words on Michelle's part ("Why'd He" ilo. "Whitey")

If the tape does not exist, why make excuses for it ? The Obamatons are actually keeping this floating in the news longer than it would otherwise. Are they Hedging their bets ? And if they are, that would indicate to me that MichelleStar! has said a few naughty things that may very well get them in trouble sooner or later.

well, if it is true, Hilary has blown her chance to use it ... unless she waits to use it in the general to sink Obama. but i would think that would be risky; he seems to get a fair amount of sympathy for some reason when these things keep coming to light.

and notice how quiet Mrs Barackstar!! has been of late? we hardly ever hear from her the past few weeks... I wonder why? i have no idea if the tape exists, but i think Michelle is a lightening rod like Terayza Heinz Kerry was; people instintively dont like the First Ladies to be so edgy and divisive.

Here is another article written by Bob Parks from Black & Right, with lots of embeded links on his site.

Michelle Obama has more "class" than Bill Clinton?  :evillaugh:There's no way for such a concept to be less than zero.

There is a tape. There isn't a tape. No, it's a dvd. No, there's not a dvd. There is a dvd nobody can find. Wait, there IS a dvd somebody has found...

So to the snake pit I go:

Quote
Michelle Obama spoke at the Women’s Event, but referenced Bill Clinton in her rant — his presence at the conference was the impetus for her raving, it seems.

For about 30 minutes, Michelle Obama launched into a rant about the evils of America, and how America is to blame for the problems of Africa. Michelle personally blamed President Clinton for the deaths of millions of Africans and said America is responsible for the genocide of the Tutsis and other ethnic groups. She then launched into an attack on “whitey”, and talked about solutions to black on black crime in the realm of diverting those actions onto white America. Her rant was fueled by the crowd: they reacted strongly to what she said, so she got more passionate and enraged, and that’s when she completely loses it and says things that have made the mouths drop of everyone who’s seen this
.

That's a little too much detail for it to be totally fabricated, but this IS Larry Johnson we're talking about here.

the MSM asked him about the rumor, and he pretty well slapped it down .

Quote
Obama denies a rumor and questions the question

Sen. Barack Obama on Thursday batted down rumors circulating on the Internet and mentioned on some cable news shows of the existence of a video of his wife using a derogatory term for white people, and criticized a reporter for asking him about the rumor, which has not a shred of evidence to support it.

“We have seen this before. There is dirt and lies that are circulated in e-mails and they pump them out long enough until finally you, a mainstream reporter, asks me about it,” Obama said to the McClatchy reporter during a press conference aboard his campaign plane. “That gives legs to the story. If somebody has evidence that myself or Michelle or anybody has said something inappropriate, let them do it.”

Asked whether he knew it not to be true, Obama said he had answered the question.

“Frankly, my hope is people don’t play this game,” Obama said. “It is a destructive aspect of our politics. Simply because something appears in an e-mail, that should lend it no more credence than if you heard it on the corner. Presumably the job of the press is to not to go around and spread scurrilous rumors like this until there is actually anything, an iota, of substance or evidence that would substantiate it.”
See Also

So was it even acceptable to ask the question?

Before Obama could answer, communications director Robert Gibbs interjected: “You just did.”

“That is my point,” Obama said. “I just think people have to think about it before they ask.”

NOTE: Obama's clearly right that this is how stories for which there's no evidence at all make it into the public eye. So I'm not linking or detailing the rumor, since there's just zero credible evidence for it. This is probably a silly old media vestige, of course; Google has no such standards. And Obama's discussion of it is, more broadly, news: As he acknowledged yesterday, beating back whisper campaigns is perhaps the central challenge his campaign faces.

interesting chronology of this probable smear.  take note that this, like the willie horton issue in 1988, was raised by democrats during the democrat primary.

Thanks for the update WE. I think this is distracting. It takes away from the very credible and documentable criticism of the Obamas. We need to keep our eye on the ball as conservatives.

something like this comes out about some candidate's wife every election year.  there was allegedly a picture of hillary burning the american flag in 1992.  now that we are in the internets age, it's video.
