HOUSTON (Reuters) - Former President George H. W. Bush is being treated at Methodist Hospital in Houston, hospital spokeswoman Stephanie Asin said Thursday.

No other information was immediately available from the hospital, but Asin said she would provide more details later Thursday. A spokesman for Bush could not immediately be reached for comment.

The Houston Chronicle reported Thursday that Bush, 88, has a chronic cough and that his condition is not life-threatening. He has been in the hospital for a week and is expected to be released this weekend, the newspaper reported.

Bush, a Republican and the 41st president, took office in 1989 and lost his re-election bid in 1992 to Democrat Bill Clinton. The father of former President George W. Bush, he served as a congressman, U.N. ambassador, envoy to China, CIA director and was two-term vice president under Ronald Reagan.

When I saw that former President GHW Bush was in the hospital, I did a search to see what the DUmmies were saying about it.

Some was just what I epected:

31. duly noted that you wish the best health for murderers and monsters

I, on the other hand, prefer to see such horrible people suffer the penalties for their life of committing horrible crimes, not from old age. So on those grounds, I take no interest (neither positive or negative) in this event, but the comment such as you offer is perplexing to me.
but there was one complete surprise:

I loved him fiercely, and I miss him every single day. See, his political opinions were not the total sum of his parts. He was the best person I've ever known.

I know for a stone-bound fact that my mother misses him, her father, every single day.

I also know the internet is good for shitty, hateful, vicious commentary...especially on forums where people are allowed to remain anonymous.

I wish Mr. Bush a speedy recovery...and barring that, a smooth, painless passage.

Thanks to Wilbuurrr for at least being civil.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

37. Was your grandfather a primary architect of war and genocide?

Bush's political opinions (did he ever have any?) are not the total sum of his parts.

His unspeakable crimes against humanity are far more significant, and will never be put to rest. To speak truth on this monster of monsters is not shitty, hateful or vicious... it is essential.

My real name is Nicholas Levis.

I don't want Bush to die. I want to see him as Defendant Number 1 before the modern Nuremberg tribunal, as he deserves -- and as do we, if we ever want our history restored.

The hopeless alcoholic Pitt should be appreciative of his Republican grandfather.

Every dollar Pitt slides across the bar was earned by his grandfather.

Liberal thinking is a two-legged stool and magical thinking is one of the legs, the other is a combination of self-loating and misanthropy.  To understand it, you would have to be able to sit on that stool while juggling two elephants, an anvil and a fragmentation grenade, sans pin.

List them. Oh, what's that? You can't? STFU.

There we have the typical DUmmie/Regressive/Liberal. History shows nothing of the above to be true, yet the HATE over "Poppy Bush" continues.
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”
