Of course I am completely wrong on that, they are not looking for serious discussion, it's group think and if you ain't on board it's the big pizza for you.
I always wondered if the predominant motive for primitives to light campfires on Skins's island isn't simply just to scream something, nothing more than that.
I notice decent and civilized people tend to get engaged in threads; the "comments" per "views" here is really high, as compared with Skins's island.
Omaha Steve, the big guy, is notorious for posting and running; he rarely if ever hangs around to engage with his audience. He just says something and runs away, abandoning his own campfire.
To his credit, the Bostonian Drunkard
at times hangs around his campfires to react to comments; a great deal more than most primitives.
However, the primitive who was best at engaging with his audience alas is no more; the maudlin waif the "Mythsage" primitive. He'd hang around his own campfires for the longest time, always ready to respond to any primitive comments and questions.
That shows respect for one's audience; one isn't just heaping a pile of shit onto their laps and running away.
