Republican Congressional candidate who campaigned on 'family values' arrested for slapping wife weeks after losing election

A Republican Congressional candidate who lost heavily in November's elections has now been charged with domestic assault.

Brad Staats, 43, who describes himself as a 'family matters' conservative, was arrested early on Sunday morning at his home in Hermitage, Tennessee.

Police had received a phone call from his wife Bethany Staats, claiming that he had slapped her during a disagreement.

The police affidavit states: 'Ms Staats did have a red mark on her left cheek consistent with her statement.'

Gary Landrieu, cousin of Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu and her brother Mayor Mitch Landrieu of New Orleans, former Democratic Congressional candidate himself, was arrested Nov. 12, 2012 for aggravated battery on a woman. Gary Landrieu was inside of his car arguing with a woman outside of the car, he grabbed her by the jaw through the window, she got loose, he grabbed her by the hair and drove off, dragging her several feet outside of the car. 

Happened on a Friday, he was arrested the following Monday.

And what about that woman face slapper Alan "crazy eyes" Grayson ?

Yes, disgusting any way you look at it. You DUmp monkeys though excuse it when it's one of your own. Freakin' hypocrites.

No biggie.  All he has to do is change his last name to Kennedy, move to Massachussetts, and he'll be set as a senator for life.

Eh, it evens out, DUmmie:  Conservative women are punching bags, liberal women are life support systems for their vaginas.  Looks like men still rule the country, doesn't it, womyn?

Nah, they aren't hypocrites.  You have to have some sort of standard before you can be a hypocrite.  Democrats in general don't have any standards, that would be judgemental.  They preen when conservative fail to live up to their (conservative) standards, but it isn't because they are better.

There is a difference here, though.

Republicans tend not to elect men who abuse women.

Democrats tend to elect men who abuse women.

It's mystifying.
