Now I think it's time for a break

It's been over ten years here. Been in a lot of fights, some I've started, some not. Have stood up for my Union and my manufacturer every day i've been here. Came close to being rombstoned numerous times. But I watched the end of the domination of the Right from DU and nowhere else.

Been without power for 10 days. They are telling us maybe Sunday. Instead of trying to find a place to WATCH the momentous occasion Tuesday night, I tried to post from my car on my netbook driving around looking for a hot spot. Just so I could post here. Today I thought, why. Why did I allow myself to miss the victory we all worked and hoped for. (By the way I said he'd win big months ago, look it up). I'll never get that opportunity again. That pissed me off A LOT. I wanted to be here but I couldn't. 120 minutes on a charge doesn't work well when the election lasts till nearly midnight.

DU has changed. I hate the jury system with a passion. I miss our mods, some of the brightest, fairest, hardest working people I've ever known (love you Cbayer & NYCskip). I hate how the gun crowd has permeated DU. I hate how the anti-Union, anti-Buy American crowd has gained a BIG foothold. Hate, a strong word, but what's happening leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I KNOW there have been intruders here who have tried their worst to get elders tombstoned ( they succeeded a couple of times) and I KNOW they tried to disenchant us about the prospects of Obama's reelection. I know they tried to divide us. They ****ing lost, here and in the election.

In the days since I've lost power I've spent very little time here. Except for news, I didn't have a need to stick around. That kinda sucks, but we all move on. I am sick, I work where I am not appreciated, and hopefully in three years I can get Medicare and go somewhere else. My eyesight in my remaining eye is weakening, and when I can't drive I lose work. And computers are my life. Along with Chevrolet's.

I KNOW there will be a bunch of 'don't let the door hit ya' comments, but I don't give a ****. I survived Bush+ to see Obama become a two-term President, and in the end, I won. I've been here since 2001 actually. But it's break time.

To some very very good friends, I will be around, but you'll have to carry my torch for me. I am tired.

All my best

I give him 24 business hours or ten days. Whichever is shorter, then he'll be back.
Sounds like a poll question to me.  :-)

My guess would be assaulting a customer who brought a car in for service that had a Romney bumper sticker on it.

I'm betting it lost it's job. First to go are the lesser producing employees. No power=no business=gotta let the lesser employees go. Sucks to be you, dummie. You wanted it, you got it, you own it. Remember the crying you did about New Orleans after Katrina? How Bush was incompetent? Well dummie, you are seeing some incompetence now.

Hope you freeze your ass off.  :loser:

Uh huh.  And the kittehs.

Bah, humbug.

Remember how well the brain-damaged primitive was doing some years ago?

He was flourishing and prospering mightily back then, or so alleged himself to be.

I'll bet he misses George Bush now.

You forget.

Every primitive thinks that his absence will subtract from Skins's island.

Actually, it doesn't--how many primitives have missed the iverglas primitive since she was banned?--the primitives never even notice one of their own is gone.

Remember how the Greatest Primitive Ever, Chief S itting Bull, the bird-smacking stoned red-faced primitive, died last year, and it was announced on Skins's island, but then when the anniversary of his death came up, many primitives expressed shock, as they hadn't known it, hadn't missed him, hadn't wondered.

This is how the Greatest Primitive Ever was "remembered," and the brain-damaged primitive hasn't been anything compared with Chief S itting Bull.

The only place the brain-damaged primitive'll be missed.....is right here.

Iverglas rarely ventured out of the gungeon. I doubt that they miss her there as most are moles.

As to Dainbramaged, if I thought I'd miss him, I'd get something with a scope on it to make sure I don't.

Yes...unlike the famous "Every man's death diminishes me" (A philosophical point to which I do not personally subscribe), to the DUmmies it's "My absence diminishes you all."

By the way, folks, a reminder.

The nominating thread for the Top DUmmies of 2012 will be posted some time this next Sunday, but won't begin accepting nominations until about suppertime Thanksgiving Eve, a week from tomorrow.

There's a rule that's been on every nominating thread, but perhaps many making nominations don't read the rules.

A primitive does not have to be a current denizen of Skins's island at the time of the nomination.  If the primitive was on Skins's island any time between late November 2011 and late November 2012, and even if the primitive left, got mausoleumed, or died, the primitive is still eligible for nomination.

And for the record, franksolich has no qualms giving out posthumous awards.

Caught bits and pieces of this on the radio news. Homeless guy was arrested and spent the night in jail for stealing power from a city park outlet to recharge his cell phone......I guess Obama forgot to furnish power with the free Obamaphones.

Could this be the brain-damaged DUmmie?
