What was it that Tweety had to apologize for?

I just heard him say something about his apology to Chuck Todd...

1. Late last night he was talking about the factors that led to Obama's victory

and he said something to the effect that Hurricane Sandy was a good thing for the campaign, which of course sounded awful. Obviously he only meant the political outcome but it sounded pretty insensitive.

4. I think his apology, though, was sincere. He looks horrified at himself.

7. Yes, he stepped on his dick and he knows it.

I'm sure he didn't mean it to sound the way it did.

3. About 3 AM, slap happy from lack of sleep

He was glad we had Super storm Sandy last week....it brought in possibilities for good politics. He issued a sincere apology first thing on his show tonight

10. He also said "dicking around" a little earlier ...

when criticizing Obama's speech ... not that it was a big deal, but in concert with the Sandy comments, it was pretty obvious he doesn't need to be on the air anytime after midnight. I do appreciate his sincere apology and hope folks accept it and put it behind them.

14. I heard that "dicking around"

just as I was dozing off... I agree it was a sincere apology. Matthews is all about the "process" and I think the lack of sleep was showing long before 3 am. He's not a youngster anymore and he's a diabetic...that takes a toll.

5. Regarding Hurricane Sandy...

He said, "I'm so glad we had that storm last week."

Really, really awful thing to say. I think he should be fired for it.

15. Oh and you've never said something you deeply and sincerely regretted?

22. I saw it; he instantly regretted it

I understand what he meant
. The storm was horrible; I wish it didn't happen, but it was an ill wind that blew some good: it really showed that government is needed. Much better if it hadn't happened.

He was exhausted and it showed.
And finally, the sensitive ChisolmTrailDem puts it all in perspective:

21. That's how a sincere apology is supposed to be delivered - as

opposed to those who claim to be sorry "if anyone was offended".

The death toll is over one hundred along with an estimated $60 billion in damages but if it helps to get your boyfriend Bronco Bama reelected the DUmmies and Tingle Britches are okay with it--as long as they're not too out in the open with it.

When Sandy hit, Obama got a photo-op,  spent less time than it takes to play nine holes of golf, bearhugged Chris Christie, then flew off to Vegas.  Meanwhile, if it benefited President PitchingWedge, Chrissy was   :jerkit:

If anyone had said they were glad that Katrina hit for political expediency, I wonder if the DUmmies would accept their "sincere" apology?

Yeah government sure did a great job didn't they? FEMA ran out of water and was dicking around with bids to get more, meanwhile people were sitting in the dark freezing their asses off begging for help, but all we saw was 0bama smiling on the tee vee.

 :mental:

As for Chris Matthews why does he get a break? If a conservative says anything insensitive they don't get to apologize. Then again if a conservative simply misspeaks they get branded as stupid, like when Palin was talking and accidently said North Korea instead of south, and she was branded a huge idiot, meanwhile Barry big ears spoke of visiting 57 states and he is still a genius.  :whatever:
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Staten Island is a view into the future with progressive politics.

No Water.
No Food.
No Power.
No Heat.
No Gas.
Looting.
No Help.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

As the crazy bald dwarf would say, some of us said at the time that the New York rainstorm was the best-timed and most spectacularly successful campaign event the muslim could have ever dreamed of.

It stopped Romney's momentum in its tracks, and let the muslim prance around in his president jacket all over TV, looking competent, concerned, and involved, although he was none of that. It won him the election.

The voters were looking for anything to excuse his incompetence in the last four years and reelect him, they found it.
