As any infantryman knows....

...it's the ground pounders that win the battle and ultimately the war. Taking terrain is what it's all about. You add airpower as a force multiplier, but if you cede the ground you lose.

Thus goes military strategy (and the often overlooked tactical logistics) so goes the the President's election strategy. We aren't ceding the airwaves to the ****ing Stiff, but we are overwhelmingly putting our troops in the field and on the ground.

Who said the President hasn't learned about military campaigns in the four years he's been CINC?

Keep moving forward and keep that assclown mother****er out of the White House.

Forward and Charge.

I can't understand how any veteran can support the democrat party. How is it they supposedly served in the military where they were defending against the soviet union then they turn around and support a party that has the same philosophy?

Sorry ass post by AP but then again he repeats himself. He must have got all of that from the History channel or something because its a piss poor analogy of just how well Nobama is doing.

I don't think Aviation Pro is a veteran.  Everything he says is just a little too trite.  "Boots on the ground...yadda, yadda, yadda" sounds like somebody with a pretty rudimentary understanding of say World War II tactics.

Yeah.  For Junior Birdmans' analogy to work, those troops need to be taking and securing ground.  Not losing it.

Of course, what our little scooter also fails to realize is that those "untouchable" support troops are just as necessary to keep Mr. Gun Bunny in the field.

Something like 8 support troops for each infantryman, IIRC.  I know I would have had a much harder time going to sea if I didn't have support from the IMA/tender pukes (of which I was also one for a while.)

My point being, EVERY person in a uniform is a valuable part of the team, not just the 11- or 18-series types.

Were that the case, everyone in the Army would be infantry.  Even the Marines have support groups, although to their credit they're all riflemen first.

Aviation Pro, numbersBoo, TIT, and that bum in the lookout tower - the DUmp has a rich history of phony, make-believe vets.

I knew a guy years ago (30+ years maybe) that went into the Army. He didn't make it through bootcamp. I asked him how he got out. He gave me some long worded speech about how they determined that he wasn't compatible with military life. When he left I looked at his brother who had been listening and said that it sounded to me like a Section 8. His brother smiled and nodded his head.

Every time I read a post by one of these DUmp 'veterans' I think of that guy.
“Don’t vote for the person who tells you you deserve something. Just don’t do it if it’s something other than life, liberty, or the pursuit of possible happiness. If everyone is telling you you deserve something, vote for the one who is promising you the least. Be suspicious of the man or woman who tell you deserve everything. Because you don’t.” ---Mike Rowe

Really depends what the military objective is doesn't it misfit?

Quote
The problem with this simplistic argument is easily illustrated. There are far fewer GOP field offices, but that’s because as even Kevin Drum, a writer for the left-wing Mother Jones, wrote on Friday, Republicans are operating on a different paradigm:

There’s been a disconnect in the ground games of the major parties for some time. Democrats tend to rely on paid, professional operations, while Republicans rely more on volunteer efforts, largely from evangelical churches. This is something that actually works in the Republicans’ favor, since volunteer efforts from friends and neighbors tend to be more effective at switching votes than professional phone banks. (Also cheaper.)

The other reason why Republicans are not as obsessed with turnout is that their base tends to be more highly motivated and, as a rule, are already registered rather than having to be schlepped out to the polls with great difficulty. They are instead working on convincing independents to give Romney a second look, an effort that has borne fruits as polls show their candidate gaining ground among centrists.

That’s something that gets us to the heart of this conundrum about turnout. As Josh Jordan explains in National Review, both Gallup and Rasmussen agree that the partisan split between Republicans and Democrats has changed markedly since 2008. Whereas four years ago the Democrats had a seven-point advantage, this fall that has become a 1 or 2 point Republican edge.

Under those circumstances, it’s difficult to take seriously those polls like the Investors Business Daily/TIPP tracking poll that shows Obama up by one point, since its sample has seven percent more Democrats than Republicans. But even there, there is little to encourage the president’s supporters since his numbers have been declining in that poll over the past week. You have to believe along with Obama staffer Jim Messina that their ground game that will produce an electorate that is disproportionately Democratic with more minority and young voters than even in 2008 to think such a result is even possible.

http://www.commentarymagazine.com/2012/10/28/the-obama-ground-game-myth/

Let's see, volunteers vs. paid misfits... who are you going to bet on?

I loved the comment that Republicans are already registered to vote so no need for voter registration drives.   So true.   Chew on that one misfits of society.

WTF is this idiot thinking? This was a piss poor analogy and Definitely NOT one that made him any new friends in the DUche crowd I am sure. Relating the election to a war on a site where so many are anti war seems like an invitation for a pizza to me.

Besides with a name like aviation pro, I doubt he ever was in a infantry unit. This DUche needs to be flushed.    :banghead:
