To me, because they're sitting, it doesn't seem as appropriate to look directly at the opponent. Both parties are addressing each other and the moderator quite nicely.

Biden is smiling and making side glances in a very arrogant way. I think undecideds will view this as confidence on this part. Ryan needs to get tougher.

Is Bidet holding anything (pen, whatever) in his hand?

That zinger won't be enough. He's not coming off as strong and confident. Biden is being forceful with his views and calling Ryan out when he believes he's lying. Ryan hasn't done that even a little.

This is a disappointment so far. For me anyway.
