Who else is REALLY looking forward to Biden/Ryan?

Last edited Sun Oct 7, 2012, 11:13 AM USA/ET - Edit history (1)

I always kind of expect presidential debates to be rather tepid affairs. All canned talking points and rehearsed lines.

The VP debates I expect to be livelier. They can be the attack dogs their counter parts can't.

I bet Biden is chomping at the bit to get his proverbial hands on that weasel Paul Ryan. He's got too much fire in him not to go on the attack.

I can't wait!

1. Well, given how he handled SP, I don't know what to expect....

He was well nigh perfect then, understated yet forceful, steady and intelligent yet humorous and very human.

I almost expect a repeat of the Pres debate last week. Just be the adult in the room while the kid throws his tantrum and harvest the video for ad fodder.

The Repubs have gotten to the point that anything they say turns immediately into a Democratic ad.

He's clean, articulate and doesn't speak with a negro dialect...

...oh, wait.

I think Joe will be fine because he is naturally a good debater. I was watching some of the debates from 2007 the other day and he was always the most liveliest with lots of good points made in his arguments.

But the smashmouth feeding frenzy some people want debates to be just is not how they usually are.

VP debates aren't going to matter much.  Ryan will do fine.  I'm waiting for the Dummies to come up with the idea of having the big dog stand in for "0" in the next pres. debate.

3. Be prepared: VP Biden will probably say something that makes everyone cringe.

I'm sure some here will complain endlessly about it in the following days. And, maybe it won't happen at all. However, I believe Ryan will lose it before it is over and steal the show with his assholery. Anyone want to take bets as to when he'll lose it?
Damage control, right off the bat.  :lmao:

I am hoping that the domestic policy part of VP debate covers ObamaCare stealing $716 billion from Medicare.  Ryan will hammer him on that, and it is something that needs to be clarified in front of large numbers of people.

The left have been using scare tactics involving Medicare for too long, and then they are the ones that are actually cutting it.

Why is Joe Bidet taking six whole days to prepare?

His team has to convert everything Ryan is going to slam him with into small, one and two syllable words that the world's only living brain donor can understand.  That, and there's a lot of drool to mop up in between sessions.

They know that if Biden gets trounced like Obama did, the election is over.
They know Bubble-head Biden is the weak link. It was OK to Biden to lose if Obama pulled even in the other three debates, But now that Lord O was soundly spanked and sent home with momma, they can't afford to lose again.

six days however will be overkill, and Biden may be exhausted, or overreact to every little thing.

Obama--too little.
Biden--too much.
Mr Mannn--popcorn and Pepsi, just right.

Serious question here, do they really think that Biden the gift of gaffes that keeps on giving, that he's really going to beat Ryan?

Serious answer. No. That's why he will have 6 days to prepare. Further the media is moving to circle the wagons, and Vice President Elect Ryan will have to debate a liberal media propagandist Media shill as well as Biden.

The media has no intention to allow another victory. Obama was given 4 extra minutes and it didn't help. Ryan will be cut off, and fed gotcha questions. Biden will be fed scripted questions given to him in advance. Professional speech writers will feed him zingers to sling. The media announce Biden the winner no matter what happens.

I have no doubt that you are 100% correct. The only reason I am not despairing is because I think Paul Ryan is probably one of the smartest people in Congress. He won't get rattled. He can think on his feet. And he will rebut every one of Crazy Uncle Joe's strange statements with facts, stats, and common sense. In the end, no matter what the media says, everyone who watches the debate will ultimately know who won. And the undecideds will be left with the crucial question of the election: Who do you want to be a heartbeat away from the presidency - Paul Ryan or the crazy dude who should be locked up for his own good?

VP debates aren't going to matter much.  Ryan will do fine.

Pretty much what I'm expecting...I also don't expect Biden to take any big risks, and probably also do fairly well, with the advantage of all his experience at doing these debates.  Still, with Slow Joe having aged four more years, I'm not sure all his wiring is still as properly grounded as it used to be, so you never know.

I also don't remember him exactly kicking Sarah Palin's ass four years ago, either, as I recall it there wasn't anything out of that debate that particularly helped or hurt either ticket.

Biden couldn't see his ass if his head was stuck up there, which it generally is. The only reason he's even on the ticket is to make sure the messiah looks intelligent. You have to admit, at this stage of the game, he needs it!

And Paul Ryan is about a hundred times sharper than Sarah Palin.

But although we know Slow Joe is a dimwit, we haven't seen Ryan in a debate like this.
