Here in red state hell, not long ago the legislature spent considerable time at the end of a session debating and passing a bill guaranteeing citizens the right to pick up and take home any animal killed on roadways in the state.
I thought it was great, for a couple of reasons.
It makes sense to avoid wasting a freshly killed deer.
Far more important, the more time they spend on issues like this, the less time they have to pass taxes, and appropriations, and tax money giveaways.
I love to see state legislatures involved in looong debates on abortion, or homosexual marriage, or how to break up occupooper campgrounds.
Those things are never going to affect my wallet.
