What the Hell does the kestralnumbers primitive think is balanced news on National Public Radio?
Maybe at sign-on each morning, a band playing "All Hail 0bama" and a prayer "To You We Give Thanks, 0bama," and then a morning lesson taken from Lies of My Father, and periodic prayers during the day directed to the One in the White House, and an announcement how the Anointed One's bowel movement went that day and prognostications taken from its appearance.....and finally at sign-off, a full orchestra with fireworks playing "I Love You More Than Me, Oh, 0bama"?
I really think to the kestralnumbers primitive, this would be "balanced news."
I used to listen to NPR, out of sheer boredom at work. I switched to the BBC, because the bias is less. If the primitives hijacked a radio station, I'm sure it couldn't get much worse than NPR. It's laughably bad. If I tuned NPR and heard the sign-on that you imagined, I wouldn't bat an eyelash or be surprised one bit.
This reminds me of something I noticed at the gym yesterday evening, and so I'll share it here for any wandering primitives:
They've got televisions set up with radio frequency numbers under each unit, and boxes on each piece of equipment that you tune to the frequency of the television you want to hear.
Every one of the boxes I checked, which was all but about five or six of them, had been tuned into the FOX News audio feed by the last user. There was a man there asking the gym associate about changing a channel, and I thought I heard him say 'MSNBC', but it turned out to only be 'NBC', and only so he could watch some show that came on at 8PM.
