Spent the whole drive home yelling at my radio

What the hell is up with NPR?! Seriously, spent the whole drive home listening to drivel about how "Obama's speech was weak on details" and how the American people want "Change and Obama just offered more of the same"--I don't WANT a radical new agenda from Obama! I want him to continue what he started... and then I want another Democrat in 2016 who will build on that, and another in 2024 who will build on THAT! I am SICK of Republicans breaking down what we've built! I am sick of seeing the New Deal devastated! The one clip they played from Obama's speech during the segment I heard was his quote about being aware of his failings, the Lincoln quote about falling to his knees... on Diane Rehm this morning, the final word after Diane brought up the fact that Republicans, before Obama had even taken office, said their goal--their main goal--was making sure he wasn't reelected (a stretch from them making it their goal "fail" and not even true to the quote, the coldly partisan "one-term-president"), her guest said, "Hey, that's just politics!"

NO! That is NOT just politics! Politicians used to CARE about this Country, whether they had different views of what actually worked to help America, they still CARED! Republicans only care about THEMSELVES!

Fired up? You BET I am... in RAAAAAGE

Good borg, here's your cheetos.
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

I'm with the DUmbass, NPR should be removed from government funding. It just is not right that NPR pushes an agenda.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I'd like to see them promote a conservative agenda. Whoo boy!!! Wouldn't that make dummies head asplode!!!

Wait a second... that is how we can cut government!!! Just have the agencies promote a conservative agenda and the dummies will scream to cut funding!!!

8. I fully expect Limbaugh to get a gig on NPR one of these days.

I rarely listen to NPR anymore. I got tired of the endless RW talking points and nastiness to all things liberal a few years ago.

Disconnected from reality.  NPR is right wing to this DUmmy?  A candidate for a breakdown when Romney wins.

What the Hell does the kestralnumbers primitive think is balanced news on National Public Radio?

Maybe at sign-on each morning, a band playing "All Hail 0bama" and a prayer "To You We Give Thanks, 0bama," and then a morning lesson taken from Lies of My Father, and periodic prayers during the day directed to the One in the White House, and an announcement how the Anointed One's bowel movement went that day and prognostications taken from its appearance.....and finally at sign-off, a full orchestra with fireworks playing "I Love You More Than Me, Oh, 0bama"?

I really think to the kestralnumbers primitive, this would be "balanced news."

Morning chuckle?

Liberal thinking is a two-legged stool and magical thinking is one of the legs, the other is a combination of self-loating and misanthropy.  To understand it, you would have to be able to sit on that stool while juggling two elephants, an anvil and a fragmentation grenade, sans pin.

I used to listen to NPR, out of sheer boredom at work.  I switched to the BBC, because the bias is less.  If the primitives hijacked a radio station, I'm sure it couldn't get much worse than NPR.  It's laughably bad.  If I tuned NPR and heard the sign-on that you imagined, I wouldn't bat an eyelash or be surprised one bit.

This reminds me of something I noticed at the gym yesterday evening, and so I'll share it here for any wandering primitives:

They've got televisions set up with radio frequency numbers under each unit, and boxes on each piece of equipment that you tune to the frequency of the television you want to hear.

Every one of the boxes I checked, which was all but about five or six of them, had been tuned into the FOX News audio feed by the last user. There was a man there asking the gym associate about changing a channel, and I thought I heard him say 'MSNBC', but it turned out to only be 'NBC', and only so he could watch some show that came on at 8PM.
