Big moment ... teenager Kirstie Mouncey, from Hull, in her prom dress

GAZING at her reflection, Kirstie Mouncey places a tiara on her head and gives a dazzling smile to the mirror.

Like many other girls, 17-year-old Kirstie dreams of being crowned a beauty queen.

But the childcare assistant is not like most teenagers in Britain.

She weighs 26½st, is a dress size 32 and has a body mass index (BMI) of 68, making her morbidly obese.

However, the blonde teenager is determined that her colossal size won’t get in the way of her beauty pageant dreams.

Kirstie is the youngest and largest entrant in Miss Big Beautiful Woman (BBW) International and is competing against 300 other large ladies for the crown.

The competition is the first of its kind, with plus-sized women from all over the world auditioning to be part of the pageant’s London-based final in November.

Kirstie, from Hull, insists she LOVES her body and hopes she will beat the other contestants to win the title.

She says: “When I was growing up I always dreamed of being a beauty queen.

“Now, thanks to big women being acknowledged for their beauty, my dream can finally come true.

I always wonder if they are lying when they say they are happy and content with their bodies. How could they possibly be? And don't get me started on the men who find this physique attractive. Ugh.

Click on the story to the right about a teenager who had to be lifted out of her home by a crane. How could anyone be truly happy getting to that point? Come on.  :whatever:

Yes, they're lying.  There's no way they could be happy being like that.  I have no problem with a woman having some 'meat' on the bones but come on .... there is a line that shouldn't be crossed.

Good seeing you Jen!

That much weight isn't healthy for anyone, period.  I know that I could stand to lose some weight and I'm not nearly that size.  Walking must be painful carrying out that much extra weight.

I'm a fan of supporting people but 200+ extra pounds is more than a matter of aesthetics.

Some of the most beautiful woman I have met were the big girls, twice my size.

Those that were confident about themselves wore makeup and clothing that was suited to their size.  No shorts in public and no clothing that showed off their body.

One I remember out weighed me by 150 lbs.   She had beautiful skin and eyes that lit up the room.   She was a beauty and knew how to pull it off.  She knew how to walk, dress and all anyone saw was her well made up face and hair.

Me a skinney Minnie at 100 pounds could not match this lovely woman no matter what I wore, she was class I was just another face in the crowd.

Has no one ever visited a Musium and checked out the paintings of the Masters ???  Darn when did us skinney woman become popular with men and the public. ?????

Tastes change  through the years, but skinney woman are for lust and a larger size woman is for comfort.

Finally after all these years I am at 125 pounds, smalled boned and weighed more then a wet sea bag in my time.

Crap, men are strange they marry a woman that is rail thin, 10 years later they have a pot belly and next thing you know they run off with a woman that has a butt the size of a school bus.  Lots of reasons for this.

One of the great mysteries of life.

I thought women with big boobs were for lust and flat chested gals were for marrying?

I agree that is not healthy, not even healthy looking.....
I wonder about the parents.
I was with my mum once shopping, and we saw this obese woman. I told my mum if I ever got to that, to SHOOT ME DEAD!!

I obsersed that she lives in the UK..I wonder how the NHS handles morbid obesity...

Sorry but she is lying through her teeth saying she is happy that way.  I was 250lbs and I was not happy.  You don't get dates.  You are treated like crap.  People stare at you. Your parents and family do treat you differently than other siblings.  Nothing fits you right.  You can't wear what all the other girls are wearing (in my time it was Guess jeans).  She is not happy.   She doesn't have the willpower to lose the weight so she is making excuses for it.

Big fat liar and no pun intended.

Gina, looking at how beautiful you are today, I cannot even imagine you at 250 lbs!!!I give you lots of kudos of taking and more importantly keeping it off...
Being that obese is just killing her slowly. I could stand to lose a few pounds myself, but so much of me is muscle...
