There are five OPs on the first page of their GD regarding the passing of Andy Griffith, including one that was self deleted by author because he screwed up and said it was "Andy Griffin", and then got hostile due to the suggestions for correction.

Seems like it's a case of "Read mine. It's the best!"  "No, MINE is the bestest!"  And so it goes.
This too shall pass.

Wait, Andy died? Damn that sucks.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

They always do try to "out-poor" each other.

"Well, I live in a sewer, my health insurance costs $25,000 a year, and my student loans are $500,000."

"Well, all I had to eat yesterday was a stolen saltine cracker and a packet of ketchup.  My health insurance is $35,000 a year."

Griffin.  What a dumbass.  Shiow some respect, DUmmy, and get the name right.

Democrat Underground:  "All the News that other feel unfit to print"
You see, I don't care you how feel.  I really don't.  More importantly, neither does anyone else.  Only about 200 people on a planet of 7 billion actually care about your feelings, and that's if you're lucky.  The sooner you grasp this lesson, the better off you will be.  And since almost no one gives a damn what you do, say, think, or feel, appealing to your feelings when you encounter differences of opinion is not only illogical, but useless.

How interesting.

When Mom died I went to live with my step mothers all ways a new one every 6 months or so.   All these mothers had children of their own and I had to live in the shed out back. Dad was in the Merchant Marine and home just off and on, got to the point the New Step Mom's name we both confused.

I did learn a work ethic, at 6 years old I cleaned the house after school, learned how to make a mean Drink for new mom and how to smuggle in Pot for the new Moms kids, hard stuff for her.

Not a bad life really, I got all the hand me down clothing from the kids my Dad bought  for them new.. When their toys broke I got them and learned how to fix them being careful they did not know I had done that.

Food no problem, Dad had me on a breakfast and lunch program at school and I got the leftovers from the new family dinner.   Summers were difficult, I had to get to the trash barrel before the garbage rotted in the sun.

Came time Dad broke his leg and was home for 6 months--a bad break--- what to my wonderment I was swept into the house and put back in my old bedroom. Brand new clothes and shoes and eating at the table like I was part of the family.

Dad recovered and went back to Sea and I went back to the shed.   I was about 10 that year and one day while stealing apples from a neighbors tree a man asked me if I wanted to help him look for a lost puppy.

Does anyone recall their favorite episode?  I enjoy any of the ones that had the Darlings (The Dillards) in them the most, although "The Darlings Are Coming" edges all the others out.  The Dillards singing and playing always added an additional element to an already great show:

I lived most of my life out behind my mother and father's house in a little old shed my daddy'd built for me. They didn't too much want me up there in the house with the rest of 'em. I mostly just set around out there in the shed all the time a lookin' at the ground. It didn't have no floor but I had me a hole dug out to lay down in and a quilt or two that I put down there.

My daddy didn't make much of a wage, just barely enough to get by on. But I reckon he got by all right, they come out one or the other of 'em, usually my mother, and fed me pretty regular. At least I know he made enough for me to have mustard and biscuits three or four times a week.

...mmm-hmmm...
