it is quite sad to see all the derelict buildings. Thor had put up a Main Street, that he said was like ometown of Dennison....It would be lovely to bring some of those old towns of Pop and mom shops back to life!!!. Have old time country fairs. The thing is we have the land and the people. With enough grit and determination we could do it!!! We did it once!!! This time, we have the technology. That would be a wonderful incentive for homeless veterans. Thor, Sparky and Eupher, Airwolf(in particular) would be just the guys to get something like this into action ...sign me up!!

Yeah, I enjoy the pics also, CG. Do not worry about posting them.

The derelict buildings all tell a story, I think, and it's sad to see how they've crumbled. The one-room jail, for example -- kinda wonder what sort of tales that thing could tell.   :cheersmate:

I have some pictures of a montage of photos on the inside back wall. Mostly dead guys, all criminals. I haven't studied them yet.

No sir you ain't boring anyone!  Keep posting them!!  I'm loving it.  If someone doesn't want to look at them they won't open the thread.

You've posted some roads on there that I want to put the Harley on!!  What was that one ... Oatman highway??  Where is that.  I would love to ride that road.

The Oatman Highway is in western Arizona, and goes from Seligman, AZ in the east to Kingman in the west. It was a part of the "Mother Road." It's narrow and twisty, with few pull offs to take photos.

Is that a museum of some sort??? Sort of, but it's always open. Hardly anyone lives in that area. Do you get a souvenir(memento) from every state. Nope. Our days of doing that are over. We got a New Mexico Rt 66 sign (hung in our kitchen already), another one that says, "Jeff got his kicks on Rt. 66", that I'll affix to my lawn tractor seat back, and one other that says, "Route US 66", that's not nailed to any wall yet. I know I would be...What memories!! jealous!!!

CG, that out of focus street sign, was that a donkey crossing sign ? If so that could be handy in here as an emoticon.

I forgot. We also got a couple of t-shirts and two coffee mugs. And my wife bought coaster sets for each of our kids. But I think that's about it.

Don't stop on account of us.  I wish I had your eye. I usually end up with pics of uncomfortable relatives/friends & my foot.

CG, you got the right idea with the coffee mugs, and T-shirts. You can't say you've "been there done that" unless you have one or the other.

Back in the day when I was using 35mm film, there were four weddings we attended for which the bride & groom used my pictures more than they used the photographer's. For pictures of people, I just announce loudly that "I will be a pain in the ass because I'll be circulating and taking pictures." The candids are always the best.

I just ran out of pics, Bad Dog. I still have some that are almost duplicates, that's all. It's too bad we couldn't even get out of the car to enjoy ourselves.

On our trip to Ireland, we took over 1200 pics.

We have my wife's family reunion in Buffalo, NY, on 8/4, but I doubt if any pics of that would interest anyone.

On 9/24-9/16 we have the Coast Guard reunion. Lots of photos result from THAT event, too. Some of those may be worth posting.

The digital age makes it so much easier (and cheaper) to take scads of pics.

Just pinging ya CG. I like the same terrain you do.  Three years ago we visited one of my RVN crewchiefs in Ruidoso NM.  He is a history buff & took us through the whole Billy the Kid story on the ground it happened on. Sadly I got crap for pictures.
