Did Socialist Steve Dawes Give up? Did we win?

Stevie Boy has been real quiet. No dramatic announcements. No yard signs. Only one stellar fundraiser.

I think Steve gave up when he realized he would have to give up his weekends to knock on doors (he did get that new giant screen TV after all). Kinda sad seeing Steve give up like this...and after all the work his friends did for him too with that website of theirs...what was that website address again? I think I misplaced it,darn.

I think Steve is just kicking back waiting for the inevitable loss and the opportunity to play the victim at the DUmp.
Now that will be an epic thread!

I think he did.

I think the big guy thought the primitives would come through with bundles and bundles of cash, and so he wouldn't have to spend any of his own.

I also think the big guy decided that looking into the issues and what a city council can do about them, demanded too much scholarship, too much brain-work.

I additionally think the big guy's in the doghouse with Marta and the kids because he's made such a damned fool of himself.  And with the professional Democrats of Sarpy County, and the Omaha waterworks, and his labor union, for the same reason.

So the big guy's probably considerably demoralized, in a funk, and sitting in front of his wasteful new television set watching obscure second-rate "vintage" television shows.  He's probably eating heaps, too.

Too bad for the big guy.

If the big guy had heeded the advice and counsel of franksolich, none of this would've happened.

I think Dawes has been drinking his own Kool-Aid - and that he believes that he will end up in the general because of vote-splitting, and that there are enough knee-jerk Democrats in his neighborhood to carry the day.

Therefore, I vote no.

Granted, I expect much wailing and tooth gnashing in a couple of weeks from Team-O Steve-O regardless, but that is another post for another day.

If he would just campaign just enough to be sure every voter in Ward 1 knew he was a democrat, and that there's an election May 15, he would be almost assured of a second-place finish.

With normal people being split among two Repukes, and a ronbot picking up the fringe nut vote, Socialist Steve would be getting the thirty to forty percent of the electorate that is democrat.

But no. Half the democrats will be at home toking bud on election day, unaware of the voting.

Maybe a third of the other half of the democrats will vote, but they won't know who is the dem.

They will notice the incumbent's name, and vote for him.

Socialist Steve's campaign is in deep trouble, unless he saturates the airwaves over these final two weeks.

Now that is a shame - see page two at link.    Mr. Dawes is listed third on the ballot (odd as is should go incumbent first, then everyone else by alphabetical order).    Uninformed voters usually vote by marking the number of candidates from top to bottom (so if it says vote for two, they vote for the top two).

I have uncovered the reason why those on the ground have not located a sign for the big guy.   Bellevue has strict rules that you cannot place signs on public property, thus he would have to have flesh and blood IRL supporters who own property in this city to be able to put them out.

The actual ballots are printed with the names rotated; the big guy's name will appear on top one-fourth of the ballots.

Sorry, There are no car dealerships in Ward 1 in Bellevue. Even if there was I doubt that he would have gotten their support after that little incident with the salesman.
