Against protestors exercising their free speech rights? After all, the history of the Stand Your Ground (which should be known as Shoot First) is that all that has to happen is for someone to "feel threatened". So if some tea bagger feels threatened by the opinions of an Occupy type, they'd probably feel justified in shooting them.

This has the potential to make Chicago 1968 look like a picnic in the park!

Here's what I don't understand: from what we've been told the only violent protests to be seen are agent provocateur police academy cadets dressed-up as black bloc activists.

So, if I understand DU correctly (and who can, really) the only threat of violence would be agent provocateurs throwing rocks at 1%ers while 1%ers shoot their under-educated minions.

So what's DU so worried about?

I think provocateurs will be in short supply....so I guess they'll have to have a lottery to decide who gets to shoot him/her/it/cat/other.

As I pointed out the day before yesterday, I live in a county where all able-bodied adult males excepting franksolilch carry, or have available nearby--and know how to use--a firearm. 

The last murder by firearm in this county was in 1907.  In the next county over, it was 1898.

But of course this is the rural, sparsely-populated, Sandhills of Nebraska.

How come the primitives are so worried about decent and civilized people carrying firearms, and never worried at all about hooded adopted sons of the Magic One carrying illegal firearms?

Here's an idea. Don't start anything and maybe you will get to see the sunrise the next day. Protest all you want but you make a grab for anyone or try to assault them then deal with the consequences.

Me thinks this will keep the "mostly peaceful" protestors in line much better than PC police.  I bet the protestors will be polite and not physically assault 80 year old women the way they did in Tampa in November.
