 Is "Broccoli" a code word?
That's the first thing I thought of when conservative asswipes brought up broccoli again.

I thought it was strange back in 1990 when GHWB expressed his dislike of it.

It's still strange that conservatives are talking about it. Why broccoli? Is it code?

BTW, I like broccoli. It's very good for you.

"Broccoli" has an IQ many DUmmies aspire to reach.

Although, add butter and cheese, an the IQ of broccoli becomes as far out of reach for the average DUmmie as the relationship of the distance between earth and the sun versus the distance between earth and Alpha Centauri.

Wow. Between this and the Opus Dei comment in another thread, they're finally on to us. Time to change all the codes!

God alone suffices.

Bush 41 hated Broccoli too.

Albert Broccoli was the producer on many of the James Bond movies...of which some dealt with battling Soviet spies and super villians.

I'm beginning to see why the DUmmies think that it's some kind of secret code.

I remember Agent Cabbage well. He thrust much fear into the hearts of DUmmies. I lost track of him a while back. I actually thought he was dead, but I've heard through connections that he's working somewhere in Florida.

Yes, "broccoli" is a code word for...

a plant in the cabbage family, whose large flower head is used as a vegetable.

In other words...

"broccoli".

21. It's really an interesting analogy to me on a personal level.

Once I was having lunch with an old hardcore conservative friend in his mid 50's, and during the meal I noticed he wasn't eating any of the vegetable sides of his entree. I casually said to him, "You're not eating your vegetables?" He looks at me with an almost defiant tone and answers, "When I was a kid, my mother made me eat all of my vegetables, at every meal. So as an adult I decided I would never eat them again." I said, Oh, OK." and we went on with our meal.

That one thing really gave me a possible insight into why this very intelligent fellow could be part of the hardcore 30% of republicans that are irrationally, more supportive of party than country. In his case it could simply be unresolved childhood issues.

So, it's really funny to hear the 'broccoli' argument being brought up again. No, I don't wanna eat my vegetables! You can't tell me what to do!
