Dear America, Gas Prices Are Going to Rise No Matter Who Is President of the U.S.

You can elect Marvin the Martian to be president, and you're still going to pay high prices at the pump. Look at the calendar. It's not 1957 anymore. It's 2012, and you're living in a global economy, and you're competing with billions of people around for oil and gas.

I highly suggest that we start building modern, and sophisticated public transportation systems. High speed rail, hi-tech buses, and other imaginative mass public transportation systems.

I know the suburban sprawl arguments against public transportation. However, you're either going to live closer together and develop better public transportation systems or shut and get use to paying ever increasing higher gas prices.

And, no, voting Republican is not going to ****ing cut your gas bill.

That is all.

Once again they admit, that stuff like that is only the fault of the president, if he is a repuke, if he is a democrat then it aint his fault.

2. Not True

Gas prices rose when we had republicans.
Obama made moves to cut prices and the speculators are just ripping us off for now.
Maybe history is not your strongest area?

The lowest gas prices I can recall in my lifetime were when the GOP had the House and Senate. I also recall prices coming down during the Reagan administration. Since 0bama took over they have gone up. Must be the speculators are racists hell bent on destroying the black man in office.  :whatever:

9. Amen.

Oil is a finite resource. Sooner or later the cost of extracting the few remaining drops will exceed our ability to pay for it.

We need to start learning to live with less of it if not live without it.

I remember the 1950s. Gas was cheap, maybe cheaper than water. (I didn't pay the water bill, but I remember going to the gas station with my Dad.)

Those days are gone. Sorry you are stuck with your gas-guzzling SUV, but I warned you way back when it was already costing you $50 just to fill the tank.

Just think of it. You can continue to fill the tank on your SUV and use it for transportation, and then when you find yourself paying so much for gas that you can't meet your mortgage, you can move out of that oversized house you don't really need and sleep in your SUV.

How's that for thinking like a Republican?

Actually, I pity the poor Republicans who insisted on buying trucks and SUVs they did not need for their work and who now have to fill them up.

I'm for public transportation.

He doesn't use oil, he rides the bus.  :-)

that President Obama is to blame is just a political hack and a liar.
No President has any control over the price of oil and gas.

Once again I bet you blamed chimpy.

I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

Hey DUmbasses...watch this.

Then her statement from today...

Quote
February 22, 2012

Contact: Nadeam Elshami/Drew Hammill, 202-226-7616

Washington, D.C. – Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on the rising gas prices across the country:

“Independent reports confirm that speculators are driving up the cost of oil, hurting consumers and potentially damaging the economic recovery. Wall Street profiteering, not oil shortages, is the cause of the price spike. In fact, U.S. oil production is at its highest level since 2003, and millions of acres have been cleared for additional development.

“We need to take strong action to protect consumers from this speculation. Unfortunately, Republicans have chosen to protect the interests of Wall Street speculators and oil companies instead of the interests of working Americans by obstructing the agencies with the responsibility of enforcing consumer protection laws. They have also repeatedly opposed our efforts to end billions of dollars in outdated taxpayer subsidies for oil companies enjoying record profits.

“We support efforts by the Obama Administration to expand domestic energy resources, including natural gas and renewable sources like wind and solar that create jobs in America and will end our dangerous dependence on foreign energy supplies. This can be achieved because today, the United States currently has more oil and gas rigs at work than the rest of the world combined, and imports of foreign oil have decreased.

“We call on the Republican leadership to act on behalf of American consumers and join our efforts to crack down on speculators who care more about their profits than the price at the pump even if these spikes harm the American consumer and our economy.”

Funny how when the 0bama regime put a moratorium on Gulf drilling the price of oil/gas went up by a about a buck.  Then when his retardeness stopped the XL pipeline the price of gas has gone up 70 cents and is showing no sign of stopping. Of course, I am sure that the EPA shutting down domestic refineries has nothing at all to do with the present disconnect of gas to oil prices.  Show the world that you want $5/gallon gas and the world will give it to you.

The DUches are certainly the smartest people in the room, just ask them.

Obama's own actions drive more people to speculate on oil because they know prices will go up.   On a a side note, during Obama's lying session on TV he pointed out that less gas has been used in the last couple of years.  Well Duh!  people can't afford to drive when they don't have jobs to drive to and make money.

Uh, no.

For the sake of consistency, we have to be consistent.

Bush was to blame for high gasoline prices 2001-2009, according to the primitives.

That's what the primitives told us; Bush was to blame.

And so the Magic One is to blame for high gasoline prices 2009-2013.

The primitives can shove that up their rectal apertures and smoke it.

1. Exxon/Mobil

Polluting the enviroment (while simultaneously bribing America's top scientists to suppress that information), jacking up the cost of oil and gas to unheard of prices, all while their big, fat former CEO got a nice big, fat retirement package (to the tune of $400 million) is just another year for the most corrupt company in America. While Bush has been in office, the price of gas has tripled, thanks to them. Global warming has escalated to the point where it's now a major crisis, and they are denying its mere existance.

What does Bush think he is pulling with this? I predict that in addition to the tax cuts we will get lower gas prices -- in exchange for weapons sales to Saudi Arabia.

Pelosi isn't foolin' anyone! We all know the regs O'bummer has put on new leases will never get rigs drillin'! He knew it when his EPA passed them! He just wants to say, "Well, if they tow my Green line they can drill all they want!" Of course it also means the price isn't goin' to come down until we send this POS packin'!

Tryin' to off this on the Republican House is not goin' to work either, since her partners in crime still run the Senate. Does this bitch really think the American people are that stooooopid?

Don't answer that, I already know Pelosi isn't smart enough to find her ass with both hands!

I think they've stretched her face so far that it's affecting her thoughts! The people of Kalifornica keep re-electing lottatwat just proves the whole damn state should slide off into the pacific and we'd all be better off! I just hope Pelosi is sittin' in her Frisco mansion when it happens!!!

Just hearin' her voice sends lemmings over a cliff and into Frisco Bay! And you thought it was Mother Nature, didn't ya?

Anyone with any kind of a memory can clearly see the difference between the media coverage of gas prices during Bush's term and the coverage of prices during Obama's term.  The problem with the DUmmies is that they have no memory.  Years of legal and illegal drugs will do that do people, you know?  What bugs me is the crystal clear leftist "slant" of most of our media.  Journalists have to be the second most corrupt people in the US, the only group that beats them would be career politicians.   ::) ::) ::) ::)

Well now, I wonder if there is any correlation between who was in office and gasoline prices.  If we learned anything from the harridans at the DUmp, President Bush was responsible for every single tick up in the price of gasoline.  Taking who is President at the time as a standard, let's see what shakes out.

Year                     Average Price

2001                         1.43
2002                         1.34
2003                         1.56
2004                         1.85
2005                         2.26
2006                         2.56
2007                         2.79
2008                         3.24
2009                         2.12
2010                         2.77
2011                         3.51
2012                         3.38  *As of the end of January 2012*

http://www1.eere.energy.gov/vehiclesandfuels/facts/2005/fcvt_fotw364.html

http://www.eia.gov/petroleum/gasdiesel/gaspump_hist.cfm

So, from Jan 2001 to 2008, we have an average of $2.12 a gallon for unleaded gasoline and from Jan 2009 to Jan 2012, we have an average of $2.94 which is an increase of $0.82 a gallon over 3 years or a 38.67% increase.

Using the standard you DUmbasses have set forth, little barry big ears has presided over an increased burden on the poor and working class that he has done nothing to help.  Nada, zip, zilch, zero.

Your boy owns this, DUmbasses, and owns it big along with everything else he has managed to screw up.  Trust me when I tell you that the voters will have this in the forefront of their minds when they walk into the voting booth this November and no amount of liberal liars running their cock-holsters on tv are going to change the reality of what they see at the gas pumps and what they see in their wallets.

Maybe you guys should have thought out that whole "it's the economy, stupid" thing a little bit better before it came back to bite you in your filthy asses.

I think this DUmbass might be on to something.  If we are in a global economy (nor argument) and competing with billions of people for oil and gas (no argument), then wouldn't putting our own oil in that same market affect the price?  Anyone who understands that if supply is greater than demand, the price of a product or commodity will naturally go down to make it sell.  Conversely, if demand is greater than supply, the price will naturally go up to whatever the market will bear before no one can afford it.

Hmmmmmm....

Since we are in a global economy, competing with billions of people, it would make a ton of sense to put more on the market to drive the price down.  Considering how much crude we are sitting on in shale, sand, and underwater sources, we could affect price to the point where the price of fuel would no longer be creating such radical rises in the price of other commodities, such as food.

Eureka!  Yavin4 has got it!

You know, I think we need to congratulate DUmbass Yavin4 for finally seeing the light.  Increasing supply would drive down the price!  Brilliant!!!1!  Somebody get this DUmmie in front of barry big ears!

Riding the bus here costs $4.60 a day, $140 for 30 days unless you figure in multi-pass discounts.  The minimum fare is $1.60 and they don't do transfers anymore -- if you want to ride another bus, you have to pay the full fare.  Figure in the time spent waiting around, getting rained on, getting baked in the sun, freezing in the winter, and walking back and forth to the bus stop (5-6 miles a day in my case and that was just to get to work) and you're not saving any money with public transportation.

Between insurance and gasoline I figure I'm breaking even and I don't have to ride the bus.  That's the biggest bonus.

And he'd probably be smart enough to understand it will take much longer to turn wind, solar & algae into practical, USABLE energy sources than if we actually started drilling now.
