Some thoughts on the GOP's war on Women

Some thoughts on the GOP's war on Women

I keep thinking that all the arguments I hear are predicated with the idea that Women need to be protected. The wingnuts what to protect them from making a grievous decision that will leave them wracked with guilt for the rest of their lives. Our side often frames its arguments in saying they want to protect Women from invasive procedures. Perhaps, Women are looking for honest information about what the consequences of their decision will be instead of "protection." I feel the same about drug education and sex education. We hear so much about "protecting" our kids from drugs and sex. Much more can be accomplished with a honest discussion of the issues than attempting to misinform/scare. Just my 2 cents

http://www.democraticunderground.com/1002315245

Yet you want government to protect us all from everything else, from how much salt and fat is in our diets to the cars we drive.
And where do you get this shit that we want to protect women? We are trying to protect the innocent unborn from abortions, and most of us don't have a single problem with birth control we just don't think that it should be a freebie.

1. One that's occurred to me

In the flap over insurance coverage of birth control, it seems that what's really giving some folks the willies is the idea that women will make their own health choices. When the matter of going on the pill is between the woman and her doctor with insurance covering the choice, the busybodies are left out of the decision. You see the same thing in the RU-486 or the morning after pill discussion. It's never really said out loud, but the idea that women don't have to run through some gauntlet to get a prescription, like they literally do in going to some clinics, just drives the busybodies off their collective nut.

They can make all their own choices about birth control, we just don't think we the taxpayer should pay for it.

Women, liberals, moderates, homosexuals, minorities, foreigners, etc. These people are sick.

And liberals are war with heterosexual men, Christians, and anyone who dares disagree with their brilliance.

underemployed, atheists, people who breathe...

Yeah and want dirty air and water too.  :mental:

In addition to being racist by nature, libs are very misogynistic. They would do well as Imams in a good strong taliban jihad mosque.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Why are the Dems waging a war on unborn children and wanting to kill them all?

Golly, I had no idea y'all were waging a war on me. I've been able to buy birth control every time I wanted it...it's even been covered by my insurance most of the time. Of course I never asked my church to pay for it so there's that.

I'm a woman, how come I don't feel my party is at war with me? maybe because I don't get into faux paranoid outrage perpetrated by a party that has done nothing to improve the lives of Americans, so they brainwashed their foolish followers into believing my party is at war with women.

Women need to care about feeding their kids which is becoming increasingly expensive under the Democrats, they need to care about the future of their families which is bleak under the Democrats.

As a woman, and Republican, I don't feel oppressed.  I make my choices just fine.  Like deliahmused, I don't ask others and especially my church to pay for what I choose.

I strongly believe RU-486 should be by prescription only.  It should also require counseling.  There are side effects to it.  After effects.  Women should know what they are doing to themselves and not just pop one like an M&M when the fog clears and they have morning after regret.  Oh, but don't be killing babies.  Don't make them if you don't want to be a mom, but definitely don't kill them.

I have a question for the DUmmies.

Just where in the HELL did you ever come up with such a DUmmass assumption?

I know the answer to the question, it come from the same place all liberal brilliance is born.

As opposed to the divisional tactics used by identity politics to scare people into thinking the opposition is after their little group?  It's the same thing every four years.  If you'd paid attention instead of sucking down the Kool-Aid, you would have noticed that by now.

The Democrats always need an enemy to win, they don't give their constituents a reason to vote for them, they perpetrate faux outrage to get people to vote against someone else.

I  haven't heard it yet, but you can bet your bottom dollar that Obama (or someone like him) will trot out the old "Republicans are trying to take away your Social Security" card this year.  Just wait for it.  Never mind that Obama's ridiculous "payroll tax cut" only makes the underfunding problem that much worse.

Hell, I heard it in 2008 and the GOP had someone that was collecting Social Security on the ticket!

Really? The GOP is waging war against me? Funny, I don't think I'm oppressed. Then again, I'm an educated white woman with two kids and a loving husband with a well-paying job. What do I know??? :whatever:

I love how the libs want the government 'out of my bedroom!' but then want everyone else to pay for what happens in said bedroom. Can't have it both ways, guys. This isn't a war on women, women's rights, or women's health. This is about you people not wanting to take responsibility for your actions, then crying foul when the grown-ups  make you clean up your own mess. Don't want a baby? Don't have sex, or buy your own damn condoms.

Some days, I wish I could go back in time and give the parents of these assholes a well-deserved ass-kicking for raising such selfish, entitled children.

Oh, they've been warming this meme up for a couple of weeks now, with opinion articles strategically placed on CNN's idiotic Politics ticker and elsewhere.  Expect to hear a whole lot more spin on this one as the Obama superPAC gears up the media bribery buys on it.

It may be a war but only 1 side is actually killing women:

Quote
(2006)

The Food and Drug Administration has been informed of two additional deaths following medical abortion with mifepristone (Mifeprex). The Agency received verbal notification of the deaths in the United States from the manufacturer, Danco Laboratories. At this time the Agency is investigating all circumstances associated with these cases and is not able to confirm the causes of death. However, all providers of medical abortion and their patients need to be aware of the specific circumstances and directions for use of this drug and all risks including sepsis when considering treatment. In particular, physicians and their patients should fully discuss early potential signs and symptoms that may warrant immediate medical evaluation.

"Perhaps, Women are looking for honest information about what the consequences of their decision will be instead of "protection.""
And yet, the ultra- libs like the DUmmies react furiously to the suggestion that women considering abortions first have an ultrasound to see what it is that they would be killing if they had an abortion.
