A 1%'er went off on my daughter today: "I am a medical field executive and I drive a Lexus.."

She is an asst manager at our local movie theater and often takes calls from customers who wish to voice their complaints/concerns.

She took a call from a guy who wanted to tell her how upset he was about people's cell phones being used during movies..ok, fine, valid concern (though, he was not in the theater at the time, he called up to complain).

She listened to him and said, you know, please come out and tell us if you are in a theater and someone does that, we will tell them to stop or leave". He kept going on and on, telling her how bothersome it is to "leave the movie, miss parts of it, find someone to tell.."
She again said that they will try to quickly resolve any problems he has if he is at the theater and has problems.

He then went all 1 percent on her: "I am an executive in the medical field, I drive a Lexus, I shouldn't be having to put up with this...you all should have cell phone jammers in the theater so people can't use their cell phones, I want to talk to a manager!"

My daughter: "sir, I am a manager"

Guy: "Don't get arrogant with me...."

She wanted to reach thru the phone and slap him. Not because he didn't have a valid concern about cell phone disturbances but because of his whole "I drive a Lexus and shouldn't have to..." bullshit.

She's told me some pretty unusual customers stories ---like the lady today who lost her $100 theater gift card she was given for Xmas and was insisting the theater owed her a new, free one to make up for the lost one---um, NO...the theater can't cancel the old one like a credit or debit card and issue you a new one for free. She couldn't seem to get that thru to the lady. In the end, she ended up giving the woman 4 theater passes to use the next time she goes to the theater but NO 2nd $100 gift card for free-- but this Lexus driver guy tops them all.

If true, highly doubtful, this would be a liberal bragging about their wealth. Look at the DUmp for proof of this.

How often do we read about the DUmmies wanting to do this?

BATAVIA, N.Y. (Democrat & Chronicle) - A woman spent her Christmas in jail, after she allegedly punched a Walmart greeter as she left the store on Christmas Eve.

Jacquetta Simmons, 26, was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, State Police Trooper Tracy Patterson said. She faces a second count because the victim, Grace Suozzi, 70, is older than 65.

Patterson said Simmons is accused of punching and knocking down Suozzi at 11:23 a.m. after the employee asked Simmons to see receipts for items the customer was carrying in store bags.

Wait, so 1% drive Lexus's?  Seriously?  I can afford a Lexus.  It's not really a rich person's car.  It's an overpriced Toyota.

It's funny.

When I "managed" the service counter at the local instance of a major nationwide retailer - it was always the dirty scruffy looking people toting a herd of misbehaving urchins who were the biggest assholes. Demanding free shit, screaming abuse at me , the store , the product and generally blaming everyone else for their problems in life. I generally assumed they were leftist filth for that alone.

I'm thinking the roles have been reversed in this tale somehow, and that "drug dealing vermin" was changed to "executive in the medical field".

Second that.  Get to drive one regularly, not impressed at all.  Crap, doesn't even have satelitte radio, my Saturn has that.
You see, I don't care you how feel.  I really don't.  More importantly, neither does anyone else.  Only about 200 people on a planet of 7 billion actually care about your feelings, and that's if you're lucky.  The sooner you grasp this lesson, the better off you will be.  And since almost no one gives a damn what you do, say, think, or feel, appealing to your feelings when you encounter differences of opinion is not only illogical, but useless.

Wow, now they even remember other people's bouncies word for word. Still this isn't even a good one. No one is going to say this. No one. And why didn't a cop jump out from behind the theater curtain while the guy was there? Why would anyone even expect a theater to have cell phone blocking equipment. Airplanes don't even have them (else one wouldn't have to turn them off) and the technology on them is much more sophisticated.

Most car makers make expensive models.  I've owned a couple of Nissan's, but never a $90k Nissan GT-R.

I'm sure the Lexus in the bouncy was probably just a typical sedan.

The low end Lexus sedan starts in the mid-thirties.

Boston is full of the 90K Lexus SUVs.

I don't think I have ever seen one, and I lived in the Hamptons on LI (where Land Rover is king).

Mercedes and Lexus SUVs are very commonplace in eastern MA.

Here in red state hell, I see Rolls Royces, Ferraris, and a week or so ago, a Maserati.

And that's in a right-to-work state.

You know you're in red state hell when you see a Rolls pulling a bass boat.

Of course, these days it's easy to drop over $50K on a bass boat.

I could tell you stories from dealing with customer complaints - but assorted NDA's prevent that. But I will say this - the most heated, hateful complaints almost never come from the so-called '1%ers' - they come from welfare kings and queens who demand free crap - and threaten to sue if they don't get free crap.

Two stories - sanitized to protect the customers and the companies involved.

A ) Company, you used to give me free bonus vouchers every month through the mail, why did you stop ?
-Well, you are only entitled to one voucher, and it was our mistake. We are however going to honor all of the vouchers we sent.
-Oh yeah ? well guess what, Company.. those vouchers are now considered part of my income, and if I don't get one now, Ima gonna sue.

B ) Company, why are you no longer providing me goods and services ?
-It seems here you haven't paid for the goods and services you have received, so we had no choice but to suspend further delivery.
-Oh yeah ? well, I'm disabled, and you are in violation of the Americans with Disabilities act, and now Ima gonna sue...

The substance of both of these are true, I just did my best to remove any identifiable details.

There was a Rolls parked outside of the Bellagio the weekend my best friend came to town.  It was so gorgeous.  I can't remember the model off hand.  I think it was the Silver Ghost, but I have no idea.  We don't see those kind of cars around here often.  There are a lot of Lamborghini's running around though.
