 Apology to my friends here on DU

I have been a little snippy of late to some here.

Over the last 20 years I have not been with my kids on Christmas morning, my EXs and someone else has been. I was with my daughter for part of those years but the last few I have not been. She has been with her mom and her mom's new husband.

I have 5 kids and have spent a lot of my Christmas mornings alone. Have watched one daughter grow up online and she does not even know who I am (though she will when she is 18).

It was hard to wake up this morning, again, alone. My daughter is finally here and we have played some games. But I had no gifts because I won't have any money until I go back to work this week, what little money I did get I gave to her mom (and she was able to buy her Christmas gifts and pay bills).

My current X never understood why Christmas was so hard for me, didn't get why not seeing your kids on this day (and all others, but especially this one) was so painful to me.

Things will get better. My son is home from Iraq and moving back here soon and I will be living with him and we have big plans for next Christmas.

I got no gifts, could give none, and there was no Christmas dinner with family. I'll be lucky to have enough to put in my gas tank to get to work next week and my X needs money for gas as well to get to her state hearing for her benefits - without them she loses her medical coverage and cannot afford her meds (she has Parkinson's and rheumatoid arthritis). I nearly lost my job, and might still, but with any luck I will be back to work on Tuesday. If my Dr. does not write me an excuse for the last week I will probably be jobless by the end of the year.

I just wanted a simple life. A wife, kids, etc. And just when I had it - I lost it. Again.

The only gift I wanted was to be able to do for them. And I could not because of some decision by a Dr. So many folks rely on me, and I have been too ill to be my best. It is frustrating.

Next year will be better. But today sucked. I tried hard to just make it ok. But I woke up again alone while others woke up to see my kids open their gifts. I am happy for them and their moms and that they got to experience Christmas morning - but I miss being a part of it.

 

He just HAD to write something.  He can't help himself.   :whatever:

He shoulda wrote this 3 weeks ago like he usually does. Maybe it would have paid off like in years past. Is it just me or does he add new ailments to his ex everytime he mentions her ?

Has anyone else noticed that the DUmmies significant other (he, she, or it) always has some sort of debilitating illness just like they do.  If so, could it be proof of the old adage "Birds of a feather flock together"?

I know I shouldn't fall for the obvious as I remember Coach's adage that "DUmmies lie, DUmmies lie all the time."

This is just an average post for Straight Story.

Just another day at the office for the most consistent sadsack in Skimmer's entire monkey farm.

I hope everyone who didn't give him their Broken Elbow vote feels guilty about it.

Straight Story, you are the biggest sucker on the planet and a freaking weak ***** to boot. No wonder your wife left you! She got together with another man right under your nose and you thought that was just keen! Now she's content to bleed you dry because you let her. Let her current husband provide for her...it's no longer your responsibility! You gave her money so she could buy your daughter presents...did she say they were from the both of you since you gave her the money and she did the shopping or did she tell your daughter they were from her and her new hubby? He's got the perfect set up, he screws her & you pay for her! Why not tell her you need money for gas and you're going to buy your daughter a present yourself? I mean seriously, what the hell? How could any woman ever want such a pathetic loser!

Seriously??  You took off work for a week and you don't know if your Dr. is going to write you an excuse?!  What the hell does that say about you?  That is the only thing in that post I need to read to know you are a loser.

I think TSS saw my post a couple of weeks ago complaining that he just hasn't been entertaining enough over the past year.  He's working overtime to make up for it.

He says he has so many folks relying on him.  Why?  Like delilah said, if his ex-wife has a new husband why isn't he taking care of her? 

I can't wait to see what his big Christmas plans are for next year with his son just back from Iraq.
