STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Firefighters who used a water cannon on Tuesday to disperse a mob attacking police officers in Staten Island, N.Y., are being criticized by the defense lawyer for two of the melee suspects."The last time I heard water cannons being used on unarmed citizens was the civil rights movement in the '60s," D. Andrew Marshall told SILive."That needs to be investigated post-haste," he added, "starting with who authorized the use of a water cannon on unarmed citizens, kids."FDNY's Engine Co. 158 aided two police officers, who came to the scene in response to a threatened high school girl. They were overrun by the mob and were being kicked and beaten on the ground, SILive says.<excerpted>
Would these clowns rather get sprayed by bullets?
...and all the left does is bitch and moan.
Maybe if they had left the cops alone and left when told the FD wouldn't have needed to help the cops in the first place. The Humvees with those microwave transmitters on them should be used. Let them feel the heat while they protest and see how happy that makes them.
Couldn't they use the microwave when they have the protesters corralled ?
They should feel lucky. If it were me running that show - I'd have filled the tank on that fire tender with my habenero sauce.
The police commissioner sent a deli platter and sodas to the FD station house in a gesture of gratitude?Last of the big-time spenders, or does a fire station really run on its stomach?Maybe the commissioner ought to pony up the cost for an attorney instead. Maybe this defense attorney is so stupid that he's going to push it.
The city would be defending it in court anyway, and yes, fire stations do exactly that.
Seems to me that the best food is served to those who place their lives on the line. Deli stuff for a firefighter, BS.Should have been prime rib roast, Maine Lobsters and all the fixens to be shared with the beat up Cops.
