I have a friend that worked as a social worker for the state. I forgot what he majored in at school, but his salary was about $25k at the time (about ten years ago).
He probably made more working overtime at Kinko's.
Yup, met this social worker looking in to the life of a neighbors child, she scared the Hell out of me. Total paranoid
woman. What her background was a piece of work.
She told me she was an abused child yet had good friends that abused their children --WTF''
Got so strange I began to wonder if she would now place charges against me and the friends of the accused family.
I was scared out of my Witt's as was all the friends of the accused until she made statements that she had talked to the children's teachers and they said the children came to school UN washed and in a mess.
Problem was our kids went to a Catholic school with workers that unless they had seen signs of abuse would try to work it out with the parent not go to the police or tell any social worker what was going on.
Got my last call from this social worker that threatened to take me and neighbor to court unless we sign papers to the effect that we had in some way abused one of our kids. Crazy stuff as we did not clean out there ears and left that to the military Doctor .
Nut so woman that could have destroyed a half dozen family's had it not been for the fact she arrived on the wrong day.
Fact was---her notes gave time and dates that just so happend on the day the kids class pictures were taken and there was a big clock behind them and the day and date the picture was taken. She swore the kids she saw were one hour late wearing rags and filthy.
So she was transferred to another place in VA.
All the family money going to lawyers, the sleepless nights wondering if the kids would be seized by the State. Just one mentally ill social worker caused all this, and she left behind traumatised family's and went on to do so in some other part of the State.
