What do we do?

What do we do, what we do?

Posted on October 27, 2011

Concerning the number of homeless in our Occupy Camps… what do we do, what do we do?

Do we push them out
because they get in the way
of a neatly framed image
… making our lives too complicated?
… making us think?
An image shaped by the same design
that makes us buy
what we do not need
and helps us think we can ignore
what fills every door cubbie
down the street?
Wear ties and cut the hair they say
it plays so much better in the press.
But it is the homeless are for whom we fight
for they were the first
to feel the knife
of indifference and greed.
First Wall Street came
for the mentally ill
and threw them out…
then the random poor
then the middle class family
who lost their jobs
and then their home.
We can ignore them no more
because we will be next
… we will be next.
The homeless among us
speak to our truth
like few other
that we do indeed care
we do indeed care
for all of us
the 99%.

Bring more food.

Background city is ... shall we say, concerned about the wrong element in the civic plaza....

Oh hell no Nadin.  They are the 99%.  ALL of the people. So put on your DUmmy cap and think of a way to make it work.  This is your time remember ?

Power to the People !!  There is no wrong element.  Everyone that agrees belongs.  This is not the time to be snooty.  Oh and bring food.  Maybe a few cheap bottles of wine.  It's getting chilly.

Dear g_d! I was afraid that she was going to break out into a calpig poem. :runaway:

racist – A statement of surrender during an argument. When two people or disputants are engaged in an acrimonious debate, the side that first says “Racist!” has conceded defeat. Synonymous with saying “Resign” during a chess game, or “Uncle” during a schoolyard fight. Ori

Can't believe I'm saying this...  But, I give her points for asking the question and pointing out the hypocrisy.  Then I get to take some back because she goes overboard.

I was afraid of a poem, too!  Wait.  I re-read it and I think it was what she might consider a poem!  Noooooos!     :rotf:

Could be worse.  There could have been aching throbbing seeds in there somewhere.

Proving once again that Liberals are all about helping others less fortunate with someone else's money, blood, seat, and tears.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

I give her points for having an over 50% subject-verb agreement rate.  Normally she doesn't do that well.

Ah, where is Bobo the Hobo?  She would add so very much to this debate on DU!
