Republicans vote for more murder, more thefts, more rapes...

Is that true?

By not voting to put 400,000 teachers, firefighters, and policemen back to work, Republicans are voting for more crimes, more homes destroyed by fires, and less education for our children. Is that really an exaggeration or is that a reality? There are consequences to their votes. They can charge that the Democrats are engaging in hyperbole but the truth is that the Republicans cannot and should not be given cover with their votes against jobs for these public workers.

A reporter challenged VP Biden for saying exactly what the Republican obstruction means to average Americans and to teachers, firemen, and policemen that are looking to keep their jobs. There should be a political price to pay for such obstruction. We shall see if the Republicans are held responsible.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=439x2172652

So let me get this straight, if we spend even more money on this, and the states actually do put more cops on the streets, instead of funding pensions like many places did with the last stimulus, instead of hiring teachers, that criminals will suddenly stop raping, robbing, killing and so forth?

Unfortunately, some Americans are that stupid.

It reminds me of the great debate over Hillarycare during the early 1990s; the news media kept blaming the Republicans for lack of progress.

Uh, this was going on circa 1993-1995, after which the issue pretty much died.

If one checks, one'll find that the Democrats controlled both houses of Congress by overwhelming margins 1993-1995.

I dunno how Republicans killed Hillarycare, given that we were a pretty small number.

But still some people blame us.

Yes they do think that. Hell they think we are stupid enough to vote for Barry in 2012.

Like I've said in previous topics, leftwingers seem unable to grasp just what this internet thing allows us to do such as see who really blocked what bill, who said what and when in their own words via youtube, etc.

Lurking DUmmies, you were TOLD by the MSM to think this tripe was true. How does it feel to be sheeple?
“The national budget must be balanced. The public debt must be reduced; the arrogance of the authorities must be moderated and controlled. Payments to foreign governments must be reduced, if the nation doesn't want to go bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

This guy really needs to be punched in the mouth.  Are you SHITTING ME?  This guy obviously has never had a logic class in his life.  This tripe is getting so tired, someone in the media needs to put an end to it.

It's a FALSE DILEMMA.  Either you pass the bill, or crime will go up.  All along, we're giving money away left and right, to Libya, to study gay penises, as graft to solar companies (seems like a new one each week pops up in bankruptcy court), etc.

So, what the democrats are ACTUALLY saying is that firemen, police, and teachers are LESS important than a homosexual's GENITAILIA.  Screw you, democrats, you immoral bastards.

ALTERNTE HEADLINE: Obama's *current* America a hellish nightmare of unrestrained murder and rape.

$30BN for teachers

$5BN to be SPLIT between policehippie-clubbers and firefighters.

Of course if the brats really want to help the police they could start by alleviating this problem:

Quote
The number of people shot surged 154 percent two weeks ago — to 56 from 22 over the same week last year — and spiked 28 percent in the last month…

Four high-ranking cops point the finger at Occupy Wall Street protesters, saying their rallies pull special crime-fighting units away from the hot zones where they’re needed.

Since Occupy Wall Street took over Zuccotti Park on Sept. 17, the NYPD has relied heavily on its borough task forces, the department’s go-to teams for rowdy crowds.

But such protest duty takes the special units away from their regular jobs — patrolling public housing and problem spots and staking out nightclubs plagued by violence, supervisors said.

“Normally, the task force is used in high-crime neighborhoods where you have a lot of shootings and robberies,” said one source.

“They are always used when there are spikes in crime as a quick fix. But instead of being sent to Jamaica, Brownsville and the South Bronx, they are in Wall Street.”

BONUS PREDICTION: As the colder weather sets in the OWieS will huddle around their camping heaters. A mishap isn't a question of IF but merely WHEN. As teh fire spreads amongst the densely packed tents (no need to obey those government regulations for supposed public safety when leftism is the issue).

The fire spreading through the camp will be blamed on GOP obstinance to allow Obama to hire a few dozen more firefighters throughout the US.
According to the Bible, "know" means "yes."

Yes, 85% of this piece of crap had NOTHING to do with first-reponders, it was just a money-laundering scheme to put money out to the teachers' unions so the Dems could get their tithe back after taxes got converted into salaries, the unions got their forced share of those in dues, and then a few hundred million could flow back into Democrat campaign coffers after being suitably cleansed.

Who cares.  If the government has its priority straight, you don't need ONE STINKING PIECE of legislation to rehire the teachers and first responders.  Simply cut the waste.

What the democrats are doing is keeping the corrupt status quo and cutting some of the FEW services that one might argue the government is actually best suited to provide.  Screw them.  Democrats are the ones actually causing (if any occurs) more rape, murder, theft, etc., by placing spending priority on private goods and graft.  I have no sympathy for them.  The sad thing is that most of the politicians KNOW that this is a false dilemma and they go along with it anyway.  On top of that, they make comments like the one in the original post knowing damn well better.  That's immoral.

They have their priorities screwed all to hell, and it makes a perfect bleeding heart headline and talking point for those too damned stupid to use their heads.

I'll repeat - not ONE of these positions needed to be lost in the first place, were it not for democrats and their @#%!ed up priorities.  Not one.

Well.....since union workers comprise somewhere around 8% of the US workforce......I'll take the Democrats seriously about creating jobs when I see a proposal from them directed toward the 92% of the workforce that is non-union.....

I suspect that hades will be a polar bear habitat before that happens.....

Yep.  It will never happen.  It's a tragedy that teachers even have unions to begin with.  Besides rewarding gross incompetance, the teachers' unions forget who they are supposed to negotiate with - the taxpayers.  When the taxpayers actually vote someone in who wants teachers to pay something for their health care like the rest of us do, they get their panties in a wad and act like they're the only voters in the state.

I do feel that way.  I've had it.  I'm tired of being labeled radical for believing that a government should live within its means, be honest and straightforward in its dealings, be limited to only those goods and services that government is economically best at providing (which are very few).  I'm tired of being called a racist because I disagree with the president's ideology and politics.  I'm tired of having my intelligence insulted by being given the false dilemma that we either have to 1) raise taxes or 2) lay off police and fire personnel.

I don't put myself into public political events.  I just don't go.  I support the Tea Party, but I'm not the protesting or marching type.  I vote every time.  And it's a good thing, because I seriously would punch one of these idiots in the mouth if they said these things to me to my face.  It's simply past the point of talking.  When people stoop this low in debate, the abuse of logic and hate that I see tells me that they're not interested in even having a civilized discussion, and it seems that is where we are as a country.

And it's not just the DUers online.  A message board won't get me riled up that way.  It's the democrat governor who seriously suggests we should suspend congressional elections.  It's the elected officials that call me and you racist.  It's the media that instead of showing one ounce of intelligence, simply parrot the false dilemma without any critical thought whatsoever.

Enough is enough.  If we can't just go our separate ways and let liberals run their areas into the ground, we're all going down, and it won't be pretty.

This is a bigger lie than "saved or created' in the first boondoogle of a money laundering scheme.

IIRC the teachers got a $35 billion bailout at the end of 2010 that went directly into democrat party coiffures and pension funds, BIRM.

There is a proven way to put more teachers in the system and Scott Walker Governor of Wisconsin showed how to do it. The republicans should tout a nationwide teachers union repeal of collective bargaining and put more teachers back on the job.
