My son and I were watching ESPN this afternoon.  Chicago was the background.  My son said it looked like some 3rd world dirty place.

I said yes it does.  Everything a Liberal touches gets ruined.

Have no idea what the "Articles of Confederation" are. If you asked 100 Teabaggers what the Articles of Confederation are, 87 of them would respond that it was memorabilia from the Civil War.

Amazingly, these idiots who "claim" to love the Constitution sooooo much, worship a failed document that our Constitution replaced.

How bad was it under the Articles of Confederation? Well, here's one take from the "pinko-commie-big gubmint" guy, George Washington.

George Washington had been one of the very first proponents of a strong federal government. The army had nearly disbanded on several occasions during the winters of the war because of the weaknesses of the Continental Congress. ... The delegates could not draft soldiers and had to send requests for regular troops and militia to the states. Congress had the right to order the production and purchase of provisions for the soldiers, but could not force anyone to supply them, and the army nearly starved in several winters of war.

Yeah, that was "good times" under the AOC, huh?

Washington wanted the United States to be able to collectively defend themselves, so logically he wanted an all encompassing government?  I didn't know Washington wanted the government to pay people not to work, manage their retirement planning (poorly), tell them what was approved for the classroom, fine people for improving their property, pass down nonsensical and contradictory edicts, and generally run amok.

Perhaps you remember this document:

When in the course of human events.....

Wel, take a long gander at this line, in the list of reasons it was necessary:

He has erected a multitude of new offices, and sent hither swarms of officers to harass our people, and eat out their substance.

Is it just me, or do I t see a swarm of officers (meaning government bureaucrats) harassing our people and eating (via wages earned by taxation) out their substance?

Washington was no fool.
There comes a time when even good men must run up the black flag of anarchy and slit throats. - H.L. Mencken

Hooters replaces Starbucks on every street corner.

NASCAR and the NFL on everyday and the View jets canceled.

Guns for all that want them.

Only time liberal socialist are even mentioned is to illustrate how much of a failure they were.

Banks could have a new way of attracting customers: "Open an account with us and get a brand new .357 magnum"...beats the hell out of a toaster!

I'd have no problem with a Hooters on every corner, but I think they should have a ladies' night once a month with waiters in spandex.

Been there, done that. Some years ago, a bank somewhere out west started offering a Weatherby rifle in lieu of interest on a CD. They immediately swamped Weatherby's production capacity. Then they expanded to a whole catalog of weapons, with a CD denomination specified for each one. The bank later went under different management and I think the program was terminated, but I've since heard of other banks making similar offers.
