A closer look at the Republican voters...

They hate the Democrats. They despise Barack Obama.

But they cannot agree on any one candidate or any one issue. They are deeply divided. No candidate in the Republican field can unite this bunch of yahoos. They are not in the mood to compromise with anyone. Even in the Congress, they have lost their minds and their way. Who could unite the Tea Baggers, the establishment Republicans, the far right-wingers?

They have been programmed to not agree with anyone but those within their bubble. They will not be easily de-programmed. They simply will not pick Romney over Obama because he is a "Republican". They have their principles and they will not surrender them. That is how I see the present Republican Party.

I think the debate tonight may indicate just how deep are the divisions within the Republican Party?

Yep the GOP is toast.  :mental:

Have you never heard of a primary, Kentuck?
This is all part of our normal political process, each candidate goes up against each other and we choose the one we like the best, and most of us will vote for who wins the primary. This is not a sign that GOP is doomed, or anything like that. In fact most of us are in the anyone but, 0bama camp after the primary is over.

1. There's another episode of the GOP debate? Haven't they canceled that show yet?

These candidates aren't even qualified to tend crops on Farmville.

They have more qualifications than 0bama has.
I may not lock my doors while sitting at a red light and a black man is near, but I sure as hell grab on tight to my wallet when any democrats are close by.

De Nile is just not a river in Egypt.  It's a way of life for hardcore collectivists.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

Needed to add that to make it completely accurate.

One thing the kenkook primitive doesn't understand is Republicans are "independent" thinkers, not "group" thinkers.

We can think and do for ourselves, whereas DUmmies couldn't pour water out of a boot, even if the directions were written on the heel.

8. Yes, it is very divided

I give you my husband as an example. Yeah, he watches Faux News endlessly, and like a good sheep agrees with what they say, UNLESS you actually CHALLENGE him, then he back down. Yes, he hates Obama and Democrats, but if you really debate him, he WILL admit that the Perry's, Backman's, et all, are really loonies. He voted for Perot and not at all the second Bush time around. End the minimum wage to promote business and create jobs? "Tricke UP economics." "Won't help job creation and will decrease EVERYONE's SALARIES." "TAX businesses who send jobs to India and China." HIS was 3 times. End Social Security? "Take a look at your 401K's." End Medicare? "What doctor will take vouchers for a Senior with pre-existing conditions?" Social issues. "Not my business to tell anybody else how to live, whether women who want an abortion or gays who want to get married." Guns? "Yeah, there will be a revolution of Muslims against US citizens and Obama wants to take away our guns." Maybe you will be fighting against your FELLOW AMERICAN citizens instead? No answer. God and religion? Pays lip service to "christian" ideals, but hasn't seen the inside of a church since the last family wedding or funeral. Doesn't like MUSLIMS, but Jews, Buddhists, etc, etc., should have the right to believe, and practice, whatever they want. Does not believe we are a "christian nation".

Yep, very divided, and NUTS.

Just divorce him already. My God, the poor man.

Here's why conservative women are smarter & happier: We wouldn't marry a man who is a mindless follower, so much of a ***** that he's afraid to debate his wife, is so unsure of his values that he can't defend a candidate who shares them, is sucker enough to buy into Perot and his pie charts, voted for Kerry, believes in "trickle up" anything, wants to overtax businesses while unions hold them hostage to the point that shipping jobs overseas is cheaper, doesn't understand lowering corporate taxes and making every state a right to work state will increase jobs, competition and quality of employees, has so little economic knowledge that he doesn't understand markets are cyclical so his 401k will grow again and allowing young workers a choice of about their benefits will take tremendous stress off a broken system, doesn't want his elderly relatives to get medical care, but doesn't believe single payer will have death panels, is pro choice, spends any amount of time thinking about rights of gays to marry, that an army of Muslims (who somehow won't be stopped by the intelligence agencies and/or the military) is a threat to an armed citizenry, that shooting a fellow citizen pointing a gun on him or his family gives him an ounce of angst, arguing with his wife about said nonchalance, is a hypocrite about his beliefs, is a racist, or that doesn't deeply believe in and respect the first amendment. You didn't marry a man, you married a jellyfish. And if I was a man, I would definitely not marry a woman who has so little respect for me she'd demean me, especially when it never even happened.

One of the big reasons that my wife and I get along so well is that she isn't a patsy to everything I believe.  She challenges me at times.  Do I like that?  Maybe not at the time she does it, but in when I reflect on it, she makes me think.  Do my opinions change?  Sometimes, but not often.  Do I change her?  God only knows.  We're still together, and we're talking about buying a house and having another child, so what does that say?   O-) :-)
