Based on what I've read I don't personally think they should execute him. But I'm fundamentally against the death penalty to begin with.

But don't any of you dare say I'd support killing a baby but not someone with a rock solid case (something this one doesn't appear to have) against them. I'm against both.

But I have no plan to argue with anyone about it, it's just my opinion.

In the end they either kill an innocent man or a guilty one, there are only two possibilities with it in the end.

I can understand not supporting the death penalty, you won't be banned or your post deleted here for having a different view than most at CC.  Something no one can say about DU.   :wink:

I don't like the death penalty. Honestly, I don't trust the government to get it right 100 percent of the time. I always worry that an innocent person will be put to death. Also, because I am Catholic and pro-life, I believe that the death penalty should be used only in the most extreme cases--mostly for the protection of other innocent life.

That said, two guilty men were executed last night. I don't celebrate that, but I understand it.

I guess I hate that we still need the death penalty, if that makes any sense.

I've struggled for years being pro-life and whether I should be pro or con in reference to the death penalty, and yes I struggle with the fear that an innocent person could be executed, but 9/11 kind of changed that, to be against the death penalty would put me in a position at the time to defend Bin Laden's right to live, and I couldn't bring myself to say that. From all the evidence I've seen he was guilty, and he's in God's hands now so I say let God be the Judge.

I had a very similar thought earlier.  Instead of lethal injection, we stuff the criminal into a giant vagina and suck him out of a hole the size of a softball with an industrial vacuum, tearing him to pieces and crushing his skull in the process.  Dems should be fine with the death penalty then.

Maybe if we explained things a little differently to the DUmmies they would all be for a speedy execution of cop killers.

I'm guessing it cost $50,000.00 a year to hold him on death row. 22 years at that price is $1,100,000.00 not to mention legal fees for his lawyers because you know he couldn't afford one, they never can. Now add in court costs, doctor costs, etc. etc. and soon you are talking enough money to keep quite a few DUmmies in the lifestyle they think they deserve.....WAA-LAA...."kill the bastard already and send me my fair share"[DUmmie/mode]....a new death penalty convert.
