I was able to visit a good chunk of Europe in my travels in the Navy. It was interesting meeting new people with different cultures, trying the food, visiting historical points of interest, seeing things I had previously only read about in books, etc. But all that wears thin rather quickly. I found very little to recommend it as a permanent place to live. The only exception might be southern Italy, which I enjoyed the most out of all my travels, but the only way I would move there is if I had a pot full of money so I could surround myself with the amenities I enjoy here in the U.S.
You might find a relatively cheap place to live there, but it's going to be some 400 sq. ft. shithole with few windows, a coffin-sized shower, and a stove with two burners, surrounded by piss-smelling alleys. If you think you're going to find a three bedroom ranch style on a couple of acres out in the country, you better bring a half million or so with you, and that's starter level. The standard of living is just lower there, everything seems twenty years behind what we have in the U.S, and a lot of people we rate as living in "poverty" here are better off than than the European middle class.
I love the fact that I can jump in my car, and with our excellent system of highways, travel anywhere I want to go without standing nut-to-butt for hours with a bunch of infrequently-bathed Euroweenies. I love it that most places I go in the U.S I'm usually only a phone call and a few minutes away from top-flight medical facilities with state-of-the-art equipment and first class staff. I love it that at any hour I have access to open grocery stores, restaurants and pharmacies. I love the fact that I can arm myself to protect my family from thugs. I love knowing that, were I to lose my job tomorrow, I could use my brain and my back to come up with something that would put food on the table. I love knowing that if I were to lose everything, there are always opportunities to start over. I love knowing that the Communist Party here is a joke rather than a real, viable party waiting in the wings for their turn, despite a lot of lefties who would love to shove us in that direction. I love living on a land mass that makes it difficult for some asshole to come bltzkrieging through my back yard should he take a notion to. I love that despite all our faults and tribulations we still retain that spirit of independence and individualism that the first people who landed here had. Most of all, I love being where my family is, because I haven't alienated the most important people in my life over something as transient as politics. I'm not going to abandon them for all the "free medical care" on the planet.
Many of you DUmmies hate your families. You hate Capitalism. You hate the elevation of the individual over the collective. You hate authority. You hate self-reliance. You hate moral standards. You hate children, the police, the miliary, traditions, Christians, free speech, responsibility, accountability, patriotism, hard work, entrepreneurialism, and anyone who doesn't think like you. Most of all, you hate the concept of an omnipotent God who is above you and your petty me-isms. You hate, hate, hate, hate, hate.
Maybe it's time you left and put us all out of your misery.
