There is only one 'best' in anything and realistically almost everyone realizes deep down inside they aren't it, but those of us over here can at least say "I give it all I've got."

However, I suspect the concepts of either trying to the best of his own ability, or working to get better at anything, are totally alien to Taverner.

What's disturbing about Tav is he's getting high and drunk while watching the kids.  His wife doesn't seem to care.

Who wants to bet his wife is a stripper ?

And that she's doing other "clients?"

Chris, he's about late 20's.  Maybe you're thinking of Dainbramaged, who is late 50's but acts like a grade-schooler.  A girl grade-schooler.

I think Taverner once said he lived for a while in a place like Thailand.  Somewhere tropical like that.  His kid, from the pic he posted, has slightly "exotic" features.  So, I think he imported a wife from one of these hellholes, and she doesn't know any better how to call a stop to the shit he's doing.

Tavernturd still hasn't figured out, that in order to pass a drug test, it's best not to study for it. :stoner:
Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

7. No, in fact you've touched on one thing that's wrong with our society.

EVERYBODY can't be above average, except in Lake Woebegon.

We should be more accepting of the average, the so-so, etc. "mediocre" shouldn't be a put-down.

I thought everyone's IQ at DU was way above the average IQ by at least potato.

Should I feel bad if I don't want to "be the best" at what I do?
Should I feel like some kind of talentless slacker because I just want do do what I do, but don't give a rat's ass if I'm the best at it, but just enjoying it.

Is that so wrong?

****ing loser. I don't care what job I work at, I work harder than everyone else and strive to be the best. I may not be the best, and I am not the best in my current job... far from it, but the boss appreciates my work ethic. Effort and attitude go a long way. I never turn down a project and I am never too busy to take another one even if it means working weekends. Yes I have failed... many times. I'm the first there and the last to leave. The boss appreciates the effort and it shows in my paycheck. I have never, ever had to ask for a raise. The money takes care of itself.

In case you missed it the first time, you are a ****ing loser.

For an alcoholic IV drug addict like DUmmy Taverner, "mediocre" is an unattainable dream.

Joining a union is certainly a big step towards not being the best.

True story.

At work, people tell me "they don't care" to do a good enough job anymore.  They are always at the bottom of the list in performers.  I don't even feel bad for them.

At work, people tell me "they don't care" to do a good enough job anymore.  They are always at the bottom of the list in performers.  I don't even feel bad for them.

At work, there's two of us in my little section.  My supervisor tells me that he hates to get on me for my occasional screw-ups because I "do 95% of the work."  For example, my co-worker and I were given a task to email a couple of the utilities that report to us, in order to find out about any changes that might have been made since last year, to certain substations.  It took me ten minutes to compose, edit, and re-edit the email to the companies I had to email, and I heard back from all of them within two days.  It took him three weeks to write the email in the first place!  He just heard back from the rep yesterday.  Now, he's got to go out to the western part of NYS and do site visits.  I told my supervisor that I'd do it, just to get it done.  He refused to let me, because he had to show that both of us were doing the work.

Chris, he's about late 20's.

If the pics he used to post in the Lounge (back when pic threads were a thrice daily occurence) are anything to go by, I'd guess mid 30s.

Thankfully I never got to see the more revealing ones which he sent privately to certain female DUmmies (without them asking or wanting to see them).

I've got some folk like that around here, generally the ones doing the same job as they were twenty years ago without any attempt to progress or develop...they're basically stuck until retirement now.

No sadness for them, but I do feel bad for the people they work with.

How stupid of me not to realize what the DUmmie is really asking, "I've been here (not "WORKED" here) long enough to draw the max amount/number of unemployment checks. Should I quit or get fired?"

Don't be upset you didn't recieve any of those e-mails.
Perhaps Tavernturd thinks your mole is too far above his sub-standards. :-)

It was a few years ago when the Lounge was packed full of pic threads and flirtation...I can't remember all of the details, but quite suddently a few of the female members started to be quite hostile towards him - upon enquiry I discovered that he had sent unsolicited pictures of him 'in all his glory' to those he decided to take a shine to; these were not generally well received.

What a ****ing dickhead. Just like a liberal, to do something they'd sooner accuse us of doing. And just like a liberal woman, not getting him banned for the practice. They probably would have returned the favor, except they'd probably need to take a weed-whacker and a pumice stone to their nethers to make them presentable, even to a craven addicted poon-hound like Taverner.

Holy crap!  I had no idea!  I can't believe he didn't get banned for that.  Pretty sleazy, but typical for a braindead democrat.  Look at A. Weiner.

I think they've gone too far with that "self-esteem" education.
